hey guys, time for something a little different. I haven't built an aircraft in ages and felt the need to build something that isn't a ship or car.
I finished this one off last week but only now got to taking any pics. Its my take on the Takom LUN Ekranoplan, painted in a scheme I saw on War Thunder but with a couple of changes (mostly adding the stars etc)
Not a bad kit, a few fitment issues, but nothing some modelling skills can't take care of.
Painted in Model Colour, Tamiya and SMS paints of varying colours. Weathered with oils and pigments (probably badly IRL, but I think it looks cool).

Sorry for the lens flare - no I'm not channeling my inner JJ Abrams. I didn't even realise it happened until post processing.
Oh well, adds to the drama as such
Anyways, that's it, but as always, thanks for stopping in and having a look

That's very good! I really like the scheme.

Looks like it should have "Аэрофло́т" painted on the sides (even with the missiles - [bad Russian accent] What missiles? They are extra thrust units for carrying heavy loads! [/bad Russian accent]). ;)
Has a life outside of What-If & wishes it would stop interfering!

That's frickin' awesome dude!  Love it.
I got this kit and until now i'd not seen a built one I really liked.
Makes me feel a lot more positive about mine.

So, in Wart Hunder can you operate one of these?

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed, badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry.

Yeah apparently. I haven't played it, but I used screenshots for this one.

In its basic form it'd be difficult to find anything that's UGLIER than this thing! But that paint scheme makes a whole lot of difference to it.

I wouldn't like to be the mid-upper gunner when they launch the leading pair of '....extra thrust units for carrying heavy loads.....' though.  :o
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Thank you all very much for the kind feedback   I knew I wouldn't be the only one who likes these oddball Russian craft.
I'd like to get a kit of the Caspian Sea Monster but the only producer of that subject is Anigrand and they're quite expensive ATM

zenrat

Isn't this the Caspian Sea Monster?

<googles>  Apparantly not.
The CSM was the predecessor of the Lun Class.  The KM.

I think my Lun Class kit is going to loose its missile tubes, get longer, more dihedrally stabs, and passenger windows.

That'd be one heck of a job doing that kind of conversion. Maybe you could 3d print that section of the hull and cut off the entire  top half?

Gondor

That looks great. A very well-built and painted model.

Very cool, the colour scheme is very sharp. I would like to tackle a 72 scale one of these.
