Hello all, this is my first post in probably 15 years, some of you may remember my USS Kentucky BBGN kitbash.

I present the Douglas C-133C, as used in 1985. Yep, I'm well aware of the structural issues with these guys, but I always loved the look of them. I figured if the C-5 program was delayed a few more times they needed a SLEP to keep them flying for another 20 years.

Not sure how these pics will post, any advice on that is appreciated.

Firstly welcome back, secondly the pictures have come out fine

Looks great.  Roden 1/144?  How did it go together?

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed, badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry.

and welcome back.

Very nice indeed, we need to know the gory facts about how it went together though  ;D

That looks REALLY good, and wholly plausible too. Who knows, P&W may well have sorted out those darn T-34s eventually.

If it is a Roden kit (who else's COULD it be really?) they go together pretty well, I've had an 'RAF' one in build for a while now, and it's nice, bar some issues with the cargo doors.

I ought to get back on it.....................

Thanks all! It's the Roden, and aside from the wing to fuselage fit- it went together very well (cargo doors closed at least lol). The starboard wing actually sits too high in the slot in the fuselage, could be fixed by lowering the slot and shimming.

I'm very displeased with their decals, both the ones from their kit that I was going to use and their C-141s that fell apart before I could even slide them off the paper. I used spares from the Revell C-17 sheet to piece this one together. Now I have a C-5 and a C-141 desperately needing decals, and Caracal is out /:

PR19-can you share the link to your 133 please?

There was a c-133 at the former Chanute AFB museum, but it was scrapped after the museum closed.  It was an impressive aircraft.

Sure, it starts here https://www.whatifmodellers.com/index.php?topic=52397.0

....and stopped just about 2 years ago, I can't remember why, and i must get back on it. I solved the T-34 problem on my RAF version by swapping them for RR Tynes, from an Airfix Vanguard kit

Looks great! It's a handsome plane for sure.
Perfect is the enemy of Finished. I presume. I've never achieved either.
