Hi everyone, I've just joined the forum and thought I'd share my latest what-if build. Hope this is the right place to post it — if not, please feel free to point me in the right direction.

This is a USAF F-29, based on the Hasegawa X-29 kit. The main modifications include adding an M61 gun port on the left side of the nose and reshaping the vertical tail to resemble an F-16-style fin. All weapons came from Hasegawa weapon sets rather than the original kit.

It was a fun project imagining what the X-29 might have looked like if it had entered service as a front-line fighter.

Thanks for having me, and thanks for looking!  ;D

Welcome to the madhouse mate.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.  Revelling in numptytism.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed, badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry.

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Yup new members first post and pics have to be approved by a Mod.

This looks very cool! Nice work!
I think it should be mandatory that each member do at least one X-29 whiff.

Cool!

... sometimes my mind goes wondering about technical stuff like "Does the fuselage actually have space for the aerial refueling receptacle" or "what did they do to ensure the wing is stiff enough when carrying stores". The answers are, obviously, "Of course there's space" and "If I told you, I'd have to shoot you"  ;D

These concerns crossed my mind when I built it. But what the heck, it's what-if! 😆
