Bold move with the wings, but the new Hunter-esque shape look very good on the Lansen. Subtle!

Another interesting inconsistency is that all documentation I can find is referring to the original Lansen wing sweep being 35 degrees, but all available drawings, photos of actual aircraft and the kits measure up to exactly 40 degrees, which, incidentally is the sweep given for the J32U!
I suspect, however, that the documentation is five degree off, and from that follows that the developed supersonic interceptor wing sweep should probably be 45 degrees, which is what I'm aiming for. My added leading edge dogtooth is to be seen as a further improvement. 😉

Is the wing sweep angle taken along the leading edge or, as seems the custom, at 25% chord line?

That might be the answer! But I haven't checked.
Good thinking, Pertti.

Interesting plan with the roundels left in place, so you can see exactly where the inserts are needed.

Coming along nicely.

Now, I have found a clue. Have a peak at the explanation for item 26 in the cutaway drawing below.

Bang on target, Pertti. Good job!

Coming along nicely, but there's a never ending need for PSR, and I keep finding small inconsistencies and irregularities that I just can't leave. Immensely annoying!!

A sensible Whiffer has to know when enough is enough!   You can spend too much time chasing virtually  invisible faults.

Remember the words of the American philosopher Ralph Waldo Emerson  "A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds".  When you think it's close enough, cry EMERSON  and move on.
"If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you....."
It  means that you read  the instruction sheet

That's a very good advice indeed.
Accordingly, I have, until I find the next inconsistency, decided enough is enough, and continued with assembly of parts that more or less will prohibit further PSR exaggerations.

In other news, two hardpoints are on, and as they provide some protection for the under-nose antenna, not only that, but also its sisters on the wing roots are in place, as is a small communication antenna behind the cockpit. Thus, this is the current appearance.

For comparison, I placed my strike A32D beside the interceptor.

Now, however, I'll have to pack my things in preparation for tomorrow's trip to the radiation prison, and hence, there'll be no more modelling for a few days, at least. But so far, so good, methinks. It is still very much a Lansen, just a faster one.

That looks exactly as you described it, and the new nose works a treat!
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Kit

Some small changes are really adding up!
Very cool!

Agree.

Sometimes you have to say Enough, as too much fettling and fiddling just aren't worth the results.
Especially when only you can see the things you're trying to fix. ("Ask me..." etc)

Hope the Radiotherapy goes well. Stay safe.

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Radiotherapy seems to have gone well, and I'm home again.

I've also found five different areas needing just a tad more PSR, so here we go again.. On the other hand, I also fabricated and attached another few antennae, leaving just one, final antenna to add before I call and end to those.
Also, I've tried on the drop tanks, just to find out that they're wrongly angled. Hence, some judicious filing have taken place on the pylons, but I won't reattach ant tanks until painted. But I think it'll look better now. And all of this in less than an hour!

I've also decided on an inconsistency in my RSwAF fleet. The J35 Draken radomes will stay overpainted, but I think that both the Hunter and most definitely the Lansen need a smallish difference in hue from the airframe to make things work. So that's what we'll try with, going forward. But not today. I need to sleep some post-hospital stress off.
