Absolutely  ;D

I used to like Historex. The origional "mix and match" model figures ?

Hence why you now have "true" 28mm and Heroic 28mm...

35th scale figures can be all over the place size wise even when their meant to be 35th scale .. and even the big name manufacturers get it wrong ,,yep i know we in the RW are not all the same size but some of the size and build differences can really stick out when you intend to use em to build a diorama ,,Tamiya's figures can be to thin or to short,,Dragon can be the same  and then you upgrade to resin figures and here we go again ..I had a set of Heller German figures at rest and man these dudes where big ,, you'd think 32nd but nope they were 35th but when you compared the  to other figures i had these guys in the RW would be like 6'5 tall and loaded with muscles,,when you put them with other figures they just didn't fit .
This can be very annoying when you can't afford to go and buy every set of figures out there just so you had choices .

Trumpeter figures are mostly junk - oddly proportioned, oversized or both. There are a few sets that seem OK, but you have to look at the sprues to make sure. It's as if Trumpeter subcontracts their figure sculpting to aliens who are working from grainy pictures of humans. For example - this kit of African freedom fighters. the builder did a good job with what he had to work with, but the figures are awful (and typical for Trumpeter). The weapons are usually good and to scale:

That's a good tip to know, thanks Frank.
I have a habit of picking up cheap figures because the parts might be useful, but if they're more hassle than the parts are worth - I can save a bit of money.

The hilarious part about the übermann fantasy is that the averages for the UK and Nazi Germany are about the same, but it's the Yanks, Canucks and ANZAC who were bigger.

And in the last 70 years or so average height in Western Europe has increased . I'm 5'8", and back in the 70's I would have been onsidered about average. Nowadays a lot of the tradesman who visit my abode are getting to the point where they need to duck to get through the door.  ;D  6' and over is not unusual anymore.

Many years ago 5'8"  was minimum height for policemen, on the basis that they'd be taller than at least half of the male population.

I used to be 6' exactly, but with increasing age and  decrepitude I've lost an inch or so.  My sons are 6'3" and 6'2 1/2"

Yup. My dad was 6' exactly (Mum 5'2" and me in the middle  ;D ) and when he joined up in 1939 they tried to persuade him to join the Guards, he joined the RN. Then upon de-mob he apparently stood outside of Central Croydon Police Station for 5 minutes pondering whether to go in and join the Met. Upon reflection he said that after being ordered about and shouted at for 6 years he didn't fancy another 30 or so of it. How my life could of been different, that's if I'd have even been here if he'd joined the Guards in 1939

One of Dad's "Trouser Leg" moments. If you read Pratchet you will understand

Don't even look at the model train figures! They're down right ugly in every way. I've been gathering together some figures for the Ian McQue diorama in 1:48th scale and some wild differences there!  I even picked up some O gauge figures and wow! Ugly giants! I'll be using one guy and he's nicknamed Mongo.... See Blazing Saddles!
