I believe the What If SIG has a table booked.

Unfortunately,
experience has taught me to expect the worst.

Just a reminder that this is on Sunday.

Anybody else fancy going? It's a good show, with a wide range of modelling subjects on display.

Martin, I'm still going to try to make it to this tomorrow, but I've been feeing rough the last couple of days, so if I wake up feeling worse tomorrow morning, I might decide not to risk it.

Sorry. :-\

Got there eventually. Very pleasant drive through Cheshire (no motorways!) until right at the last leg, a crash had closed the road, forcing an imprompture diversion, and then that hit a road closure, causing a diversion to the diversion!

Very good show as always. Just Martin & myself in attendence from the SIG, but I took extra models with that in mind, so we put on a very decent spread and got a lot of interest. There was a guy on our row who's models were all card, and honestly it was nearly impossible to tell, they were that good. He had a large-scale Russian T-35 tank (the one with five turrets) with a full interior that had taken him two years to build.

Didn't go mad buying stuff since I'm now severely short of space at home and I've got the last few things on my "need" list. Couldn't resist these, however:

FROG 1/72nd Hornet for £4 complete with aftermarket decal sheet. For that price I don't care how accurate it is, it'd be worth it for the decals, props and wheels.
Airfix VC 1/72nd Jetstream for £13.

Anyhoo, pictures here: https://flic.kr/s/aHBqjCLeXk
(After a lovely fight with the new camera software I had to download having accidentally deleted the old version... )

Woh!

You're nearly as snap-happy as I am, H!  ;D  ;D  ;)

Lots of really good builds there! Especially liked all the armour whifs & the Gosling.  ;D

Are you sure that T-35 was card?  :o

Yep: had a good long chat to the guy.

Another fun display was from a club where one of the younger members (yes, they do exist!) had discovered that 3D Print files are available for various singers and rock and pop artists, so he'd set about building all his favorite bands. He did tell me what scale they are, but I've forgotten: they were about 8" tall.

That got me thinking about what-if supergroups: Lady Gaga, David Bowie and Jimi Hendrix anyone?

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.  Revelling in numptytism.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed, badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry.

NARSES2

Neat pictures H, many thanks

I can remember card modelling being quite a big thing many years ago, and there were lots of "kits" out there to buy. Lots of archetechtural models in particular, but none came anywhere near the standard of that T-35
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Gondor

I must get to that show one year, I have friends in the area, so it would be nice to catch up with them.

I know it's in a book I have around here somewhere....

Thanks for sharing those, Harold.

I don't remember some of the small armour - what are they, please?

I like the Tintin diorama.

I suspect the Gatling Abrams will give Phill a few ideas...  ;)

Haven't seen a Tamiya Perkasa in... well, ever, outside the catalogue.

The swing-wing TSR2 looks good.

Nice touch to have the Enterprise bridge under a clear dome - like it was on the show.

The book nook dio is cool.

If you mean the small armour on our table, then they're Martin's, so he can tell you better than I can.

I'd love to do a book nook of my own design, but the trouble is a have so many actual books that I don't have space for one!

Cool, thanks - hopefully he will chime in.

There are a few printable book nooks, but as you say - they take up room which can be more usefully utilized for actual books...  ;)
I'd like to do a couple in say 1/32, but getting the scale right will be the issue. Probably have to see how big the doorways are and go from that.

The one the NerdForge lady did was cool.
