Canards.... low on the fuselage, behind the cockpit, angled about the same as the lower pair of wings.
It looks very secret, so.... SR-71 blue/black, or a very dark metallic grey, or titanium grey. Insignia adapted from the Angel Interceptor.

 i think you Talk about the late 60's and early 70's scheme, i have a real sweet spot for it, but it must be a nightmare to mask it on the X-Wing with the engines...
