Horten Go-229B in 1/48 scale is finished.
It's Dragon model enhanced with Eduard photo-etched parts, with AIM-4 Falcon missiles from a Hasegawa set, metal landing gear from Scale Aircraft Conversions, figures from Military Scales and a wooden aircraft carrier deck from Laser Model Graver.
Of course, I had to make my life more difficult because while Horten is a beautiful aircraft, its nose gear is a real oddity. So I used a plastic main landing gear leg to build a replacement nose gear, to which I attached some spare wheels. Main landing gear is from SAC set.1/48 Dragon's Horten B model is noticeably inferior to the A version, but I like it's shape much more. It's a shame the 1/32 kit from Zoukei Mura is so incredibly expensive...
I finished model in the US Navy scheme, in a "what-if" style, of course. They must have tested the missiles on something before they were introduced. They must have gotten the A-12 Avenger 2 concept from somewhere too ?
As usual, I used Real Color AK Interactive and AMMO paints. The carrier's deck was weathered with a hairspray ,metal parts were polished with AMMO pastes.
The decals are a real hodgepodge of matching items I found in the stash :)

YES!     It's a good one!

The crew member with the clipboard seems confused / concerned / just plain baffled     about something whilst his mate in the deck chair doesn't care at all.  Crew member three may well be a Brit on secondment, given that his response to the whole situation appears to be a  mug of tea

It's a coffee with milk :) Tea would be more black and translucent :D Pilot with clipboard is concerned over test program, one with coffee woke up too early and doesn't know on which earth he is, one on sunbed finished his schedule and couldn't care less :)

Captain Canada

The figure stories are very amusing!  ;D  ;D  ;D

Rick is a New Zealander, he probably drinks his tea with milk,

I'm Australian, raised by a Czech; I drink my coffee black & my tea black with a dash of lemon juice. (Both with far more sugar than I'm willing to admit to here!   )

Black tea - 🤮

I can overlook your bizzare beverage choices though given you have made such a good model.  New front wheel is excellent and a great improvement.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.  Revelling in numptytism.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed, badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry.

My mum drank her tea black, straight out of the pot. No sugar. You should of seen what it did to her mug  :o

I've always liked the Go-229 and that is absolutely brilliant
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

I drank my last cup of tea at b'fast time on Sep 3rd 1965, the day I got married to my first wife.

Until then I reckon my Mum & Dad fed it to me by the GALLON! I'd already had a lifetime's ration of tea by then!  :o
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)
