Quote from: Andrew Gorman on January 18, 2026, 04:45:45 PMIt's looking great! for a big gun, maybe a large lasgun on a ball mount at the front of the landing gear pods? Kind of like the side guns on a Mark VIII tank- picture 6 in this link:
https://www.lineofdeparture.army.mil/Portals/144/PDF/Journals/Army-History/MarkVIII-UA.pdf
Trying to keep it in the Dune levers/gears/rivets aesthetic.  And what a lasgun looks like? Whatever looks good and ominous

I think that position could result in some heavy problems with the front steering wings 😉😜. And there are big open air intakes at the pods

I use only the front turret, found a good gun in the spare box ( or build one).
You can see the open glas turret in the front.

I did a night session and tried to fit the cockpit glas, there are 4 parts who should come together and i spend one hour to get them ready. ( I hope ) .

Now i should find out what to fix first. 😵💫⚒️.

Thank you Wombat,  nice to hear you + watching.
When i look at the shape of the nose i think that will be a good place for a straight forword shooting gun.

But this is the first Position for the weapon 😁

have continued today adding a dozen of very small Details at the fuselage, build a custom gun for the front station, and painted all the wings.

I use a mix with Vallejo Shifter ( green to violett ) , glaze, black, thinner and PU Varnish and paint every side twice.

That result is very difficult to see on photos but it looks like the shimmer of insect wings in real light. The extreme fine structure at the surface is good for the look, i am happy with that. The very used look is exactly what i imagine for the wings.

I use a similar mix ,with more black , to paint all the windows from the inside, this Ornithopter is used in a hot desert Environment . 😎

The Vallejo color shifters are great paints, but photographs rarely capture the effect. It should look amazing, shifting from green to violet as the light moves across the wings.

That's correct, also if every wing had his own position and different angles it should be good to see.
Tomorrow i plan to visit the local Vallejo Shop and have a look at new stuff. I am searching for some metall fx paint.

.... yesterday i pushed the project with a complete primer and final color.
I had a surprise at the paint job with a broken leg of the landing gear,  coming from nowhere....  :banghead:

I always try to build everything strong and bigger, and have no idea why this 4,5 mm thing can be damaged.

There are also the main cockpit Windows,  painted with Shifter Black from the inside. That will be the last parts to glue in at the end.
The fuselage will get some washings and decals.

Sometimes the odd knock happens without us realizing it.  :-\

24 hours later i finished the decals and i think also the aging is done. Maybe some very small parts to ad later,  next thing will be the Cockpit Windows to fix and get the masking tape of..

Brilliantly cool and weirdly different Herr Noizer mate and it's awesome.  ;D  ;D

That landing gear leg probably broke cause its old as F bud ...old Heller plastic can be very brittle and takes zero effort to brake it.
Same problem I had when I had a old as the hill's Heller AMX 155mm SPG ..broke every suspension arm  :banghead:
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

Yeah! That's looking the business!
