Royal North American Air Force (RNAAF)

In the 1940s, after a series of border clashes, tension rose  between the English North American Territories and and the Republic of Texas. Both sides started to expand their armed forces. The Royal North American Aor Force (RNAAF) received 127 Spitfires from England. These were mainly Mk. 22 fighters. The aircraft retained their English colours but received the RNAAF roundels with the American Eagle in the centre.

The Republic of Texas Air Force(RTAF) bought a total of 182 Curtiss Warhawk fighters. Curtiss was a manufacturer which relocated to Texas in the 1930s and became one of the key suppliers of the RTAF.

Interesting idea. I like the marings on both. But the Warhawk looks great like that !

Now that's interesting.

If Curtiss were a principle supplier of the Texans, there might have been more incentive to develop the Warhawk as much as the Spitfire, in which case you might have seen something like the P-40Q prototype go into production.

Pegasus (Freightdog) did a 1/72nd kit of it, but it's out of production now. You might find one on Ebay, and I think I've got one or two as well.

Sort of earlier setting for the recent Civil War movie.
Both aircraft look great and the markings hit the spot to my way of thinking

So...did the Crown and Colonials reconcile their differences before Lexington and Concord, and is there a painting of Mad King George and George Washington signing the Treaty of Dominion?  Or were the Colonials just that bad and lost the war?

Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Exactly what I'm wondering Scoot. Plus what happened to the westward expansion ? Also California etc ?

Fascinating scenario and great builds
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Keep these ideas simmering - I think we have the makings of a great GB idea here.

Good work.

Did you think of putting this eagle into the roundel?

Well of course the French abandoned the American revolutionaries and instead went west and established a colony on the American West Coast, ruled by the exiled French Monarchy.
I have a Bloch 155 in the make with markings for exactly that.
