Amazing Stuart, both in creating it and finishing it so excellently .

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.  Revelling in numptytism.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed, badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry.

Very very nice

Id be interested to know what mind altering substances they were partaking of when they came up with this bird?

Looks superb

Do wonder the wisdom of 4 deflected thrust VTOL, with only a pogo stick landing gear, given the engine layout you would think a wheeled undercarriage for a conventional landings should an issue arrise with one of the 4 engines or its thrust deflection.

Bonkers   ;D

I suppose wheels would also help with moving the aircraft on deck or ground, when you don't want to move it by hovering.

So in the submission document the answer to a non VTOL landing is a slow belly flop, with strengthening of the associated areas to allow quick repair and turnaround.

As far as deck manoeuvring, there were to be both individual dollies for each pogo for dragging around with a tug, and also a bigger tug which could lift the aircraft from underneath and also swap out the weapon pack too.

I'll post some images later when I get home.

So I can announce that this is now available for sale. It would have been sooner but I recently had the thing all resin printer owners dread, a leak from the resin vat. This necessitated a lot of clean up and then replacement of just the LCD screen protector luckily.

The kit comprises the 3d printed aircraft, a Master pitot & AoA probes, 2x vacuformed canopies, and instructions. As usual I don't provide decals since the What-if? nature means it can be whatever you decide it to be. To place an order visit https://machinamodels.co.uk/.

Would look perfect sitting on a deck next to a Bell F3L-1.

Especially since both were submitted to Requirement TS.140. And I might happen to have one in the Stash....

When I fist saw it, I assumed the whole engine rotated for VTOL. 1956 is mighty early for vectored thrust, though they were also studying the even wackier Avrocar stuff. There seems to have been some competition between Avro Canada and Bell for these VTOL studies. I wonder if Avro knew Bell were developing the X-14 and wanted to upstage it.
Cheers.

Astonishing subject & superbly modelled-well done!

Deflected thrust not vectored thrust. Meteor F.Mk.4 RA490 was tested with thrust deflectors
in 1954. The Nenes had to be mounted fwd. of the wing to enable installation of the necessary
bits.
