Tell me about it. I'm constantly amazed and dismayed by what some Technicians I deal with manage to make a mess of.

That's how I came to know poke-yoke, a former designer at my work sent me an email about it as we were trying to make something idiot proof. In fact, today I found out that a drawing had changed when nothing on that sheet had been intended to be changed; it was also about six months old. I only found out because I was doing some work I don't normally do and needed to use that drawing, mainly to remind myself of screw sizes.

I have one of those to build as well. I must try to sort out which bits go where at some point  :-\

I've got to find mine first too, although I think I saw it a day or so back when I was last in the loft.

I now know where my P.1214 is, but it can wait until much later in the year.  It's somewhat tempestous round here at the minute.

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Since I last posted I've had 2 printed iterations. This week I managed to fettle the 2nd print and attend to what should be the last tweaks to the design. This mostly entailed making the various little doors thicker, with larger hinges, a few tolerance changes to some of the fitting tabs, and enlarging some of the panel lines due to printing orientation issues.

The 3rd test print is currently drying before curing. I'm very much expecting to build this one in full.

Now that you mention it.....lol

Excellent work ! The parts you have already preinted look great. Interesting to see the parts layout from the printer as well.

Assembly is go! All trial fitting is done, and I've started painting. I must be getting better with Fusion, this is the least number of iterations so far for any of my creations. Either that or my reduced wine intake of late may be a contributing factor. Nah that can't be it....

Annoyingly the airbrush spattered badly when I painted the white on the fuselage, so it'll need a light sanding before another coat. The scheme will be standard USN 1950s/1960s Light Gull Grey over White. All bays will be white, with door edges and the inside face of the airbrakes in red, plus intakes will be white inside with red lips (like the A-3s and A-4s). I've got some A-4 Skyhawk decals on order since they're similar sized aircraft.
