The BH8 model has its first coat of primer on it now. It's not that easy spraying grey primer on a model that's made of grey styrene, you can't see which bits have been painted and which haven't!

Anyway, it's done now and I can see which bits need a little more attention, which aren't many. There's precious little PSR to be done on a model like this, thank goodness, but I still have LOADS of tee-weeny greeblie bits to glue into position, and some of them won't be going where Trumpeter want them to be either, just because I can.

Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Primer IS available in colours other than grey...
 ;D

Looks good but.

Sure, but I might not have to paint any more, just a coat of satin varnish and that might do.  ;D

Not larger, just able to carry more weight. Same physical dimensions to fit inside the fleet's well decks.

Hmmm, work's come to a grinding halt on the BH8 because some add-on stuff that I ordered 'from the Orient', which was originally said to take a week to arrive is now delayed till Jan 8th!  :banghead:  :banghead:  :banghead:

This is because of '.....unexpected heavy orders at this time of year....' Now look, it's CHRISTMAS over here in the West, and if you want to trade with us you'd do better to use OUR calendars!

There's fibbers, liars and Chinamen it seems.....................

Seriously? A racist diatribe because little bits of whatever for your toy will be delayed.
🙄
Also your assumption that it's a result of orders from "the West", whatever that means now, is more than absurd. You're not the only market on the planet.

Jeepers Jon, do you HAVE to take everything so literally?  :banghead:

Now that the extra bits for the BH8 have arrived I've been minded to add on all the umpteen bits and pieces that come in the kit, but they're all SO small I have no idea what they do, or where they go as half of them don't look like items in the instructions.  :banghead:

So I took an executive decision and stuck them on where I felt like it, after all a) It's a Whiff and b) it's MY model!

One of the tiny bits was the curved handrail thingie you can see in the foreground in this pic, but the only other one in the kit pinged off into the distance ages ago, so I was a bit stuck..........

......so I got out my card of fuse wire and a pair of pliers and bent up a new one! Comes from a history of flying aeroplane models where fuse wire details were par for the course. I don't think it looks too bad, and it'll look even better when it's painted.

There's one sprue of odds and ends, mostly pipework and aerials, to add from the kit, and the extra radar and aerials from the bits I bought, and then I have to decide how to paint it. :-(

The actual build of the BH8 is done, all the teeny weeny bits that had to be added are on it now, and a right pig's ear it looks too, pretty it' ISN'T!

I have to do some painting before I can assemble some other parts, like the propulsion fans, and I'll have to un mask the windows before I can add the rear view mirrors. Yes, it has a pair of them!  :o

Not quite sure how many different greys I'll paint it in, and I'll probably use all the wrong ones according to the ship modellers anyway, but who cares? It'll be grey not matter what shade they are. .

Coming along, Kit.

Yep, fuse wire comes in handy all over the place.
