Really? Wow, who does them then? They've got to look awesome!  :o

Airfix.  You need to find somone who built the big Typhoon with the engine covers closed.  I happened to know someone who knew someone who had done that twice...

Oh yes, of course. I'd forgotten that they'd done a 1/24 Typhoon.

I can't see kits that big.......................

You need your eyes checked, Kit! They're pretty hard to miss!  ;D  ;D

I have an optical filter that stops me seeing kits and models larger than 1/71 th scale.  ;)

Here's a site showing some real world swaps: two with 6.2L Supercharged Hellcat V-8s, one 6.1L hemi, one 7L LS 7 (boring) and one turbosupercharged Toyota 2JZ-GTE.

Prowler swaps

The main page, the site has, to date 1,009 separate subject posts.

One of the Hellcat swaps.

Crumbs, looks like V8 swaps into Prowlers are quite common. Thanks JCF, could be handy.

One of those had a colour scheme I really liked too, I'll be adapting that one for my Growler.

V12? there's probably little chance of making a slightly smaller V12 that fits. Like the Falconer V12, as used in the Thunder Mustang: a 75% size P-51 lookalike.

Jaguar/BMW/M-B V-12s would fit,
or go old-school and use a Lincoln
flathead V-12.

In Germany i saw a install which looked like it was factory built ,,a V12 from a 850i in a 2012  116i  :o  ;D
I want that car
This isn't the same car but it's got a V12 .

Hmmmm, I used the Jag V12 for my disguised Rolls Royce Silver Cloud a while back, and that's one LONG piece of horsepower! It'd be a bit of a squeeze in a standard length Prowler I reckon.

I helped my dad rebuild a Jag V12 out of a XJS when i was a kid Kit ..long before i really knew what i was doing that is and yes ,, a bloody long engine and i do remember it took 4 of us to lift it,,so damn heavy too but compared to the BMW V12 it's a dinosaur age wise ..well in the mechanical world anyway but still a cool engine ...that Bemmer engine is far shorter and a ton lighter but again ,,just time is all .
I think the size and weight would be far to much for the Growler for sure Kit ,,totally agree with ya .

I rented an XJS once (yeah really, I got good discount from Avis as my company cars were all on lease from them  ;D ) to impress a girl friend. One look in that engine bay and I came up with 'Kit's law of car engines'.........

'If you drop a 1/2" nut into the top of such an engine and it DOESN'T land on the ground, you've got no chance of fixing that engine yourself'! No way would that XJS engine pass such a test.   :banghead:

Oh there's one hell of ALOT of engine in there thats for sure ...a fav trick with Jag.s that i know you'll know about is once the old Jag lump carks it and a new engine is needed a Chev V8 comes into play ,,My dad had a mate with a ,,if i remember right a old XJ6 and its engine died big time ..hole in the block ,,the price here for replacements was and still is mental ,,so ya look at other options now don't ya  ;D
Not only did he end up with a more powerful engine but it was lighter and had much better fuel economy too
Also i still remember the sound ,,so so good
