Are What Ifs "universal..."?

By that, I mean does this forum/site cater to "all" what if subjects, or mainly military(air, armour, etc), or do things that live in the sci-fi realms, autos, figures, etc. qualify...? I signed up to this forum
because I'm a fan of alternate universe as well as all forms of building "what if" vehicles. I do a lot of  regular aircraft, F1, 1/9 scale motorcycles, and the odd "Gundamish" type builds like
Machinen Krieger kits. I like to make MY version of these kits with all sorts of add-ons, like extra barrels, armour plate, antennae, big wheels(aka Mad Max style), and been looking for a place to get ideas and share tips 'n tricks.

Kind Regards,
Dok

Hello Dok, and welcome to WhiffWorld.

I think we can say we're open to ALL sorts of imaginary, and not so imaginary, models here. Pretty well all the types of models you've mentioned have appeared in this Forum at some time or another.

How about posting pics of some of your previous work and see what sort of reception you get for them? You may be quite pleased.  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Kit

While there may be a lot of military based projects here I think you'll find quite a few imaginary projects of all sorts. Even some occasional military types converted to civilian uses.
Welcome to the fun house and let the imagineering begin!

Welcome to the insanity.  "Love-me" (aka straight) jackets are to your left.

All whifs and all mediums are welcome here, from Clive Cussler' NUMA to Germany's Heer/Luft/Kreigsmarine napkin-waffe, to some literary drabbles and dabbling.

I've lost my patience with plastic (I know, sacrilege), and dabble mainly in 2d and 3d digital works, with the occasional literary scribbles

Welcome, just be yourself and respect your fellow Whiffers.

This place here is very liberal concerning topics, "degree of whiffery" and excution. It's the idea that counts, and the respect for it and the builder. We even have digital image whiffery here, not only "model hardware".

Welcome to Whiffworld!   The inmates inhabitants are  "mostly harmless"  but do accept that the occasional anachronism or passing paradox may cause you some initial confusion.  The simple guideline is  If it can be whiffed it will be, or quite probably already has been.    As to the form a whiff should take,  I've seen models , artwork, computer generated whiffs, stories and even poetry!  I don't do much modelling myself,  I play  with words not styrene and produce backstories for others to use.

However you engage with Whiffery, you will find us all a very supportive group.

To caveat KIt's "How about posting pics...", generally the free image hosting sites are usually pretty good about providing external links for the forum (BBCode links), plus you can upload and attach your imagery to the site itself.  That being said, if you do go the 3d party image hosting, Imgur is having a bit of a snit with HMG and has geo-locked the UK.

Welcome to the nut house Dok mate 👍
Everyone here is a pretty cool bunch of guys ..we're all demented in one way or another but all into everything associated with models ..both real world and most importantly wiffs ...if you can name it we wiff it ..alternative reality is a fav of mine and stupidly over powered cars  ;D
One-off the best things about here is we don't rip others builders work to bits ..helpful suggestions and ideas when our brains have mind farts and we can't think straight other than that ..we're an easy going bunch

Over kill is often very understated .

What they all said.

IMO we could do with more non military subjects but that's just my opinion and like a certain orifice we all have those.

Welcome.  Show us some pics.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.  Revelling in numptytism.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed, badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry.

Both "credible" and "totally bonkers" have been taken as compliments here  ;D

Most here remember Tophe who was a pacifist. He would take military aircraft and turn them into asymmetric creations of peace. Usually light blue, and sometimes with flowers.

THANK YOU...to ALL who replied to my query. At present, I am working on the Nutcracker from Machinen Kreiger universe of Kow Yokoyama fame. I'm adding all sorts of greeblies
and canons, etc., to "spice up" the superstructure. I'm almost done my robot girl from the 1923 film "Metropolis" with a VERY odd twist/homage to The Borg...stay tuned.

I'm not confident in posting images/videos to the net, so I may need some help with posting same.

Cheers all,
Dok

Mossie

I'm with Fred, we see very few F1 or motorbike whifs so they'll be very welcome indeed. Ma.K always good, as well as anything else. If you just fancy putting snacks aircraft in different markings, also good.

The very fact that you use the word 'greeblies' proves you're one of us.  ;D

I think that sums up the site perfectly  ;D
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.
