Quote from: kerick on November 19, 2025, 08:54:06 PMThat's some quality work! Carry on!

Agree wholeheartedly!

And I like the reuse of runner sections - an often overlooked resource.
Thanks mate  ;D
And sprues ,, i always keep the thick ones ,,well the small to medium ones with plastic around the 3mm thick or i cut em up ..those corners are mega helpful for exhausts as i've done here ,, its free and the corners are sweet ,,having many different radiuses is always nice to have too ,,,it makes jobs like this bloody simple

Quote from: Old Wombat on November 21, 2025, 02:02:06 AMI'm seeing insanely detailed perfection happening here!
Yep ,,yes Sir that you are and it's not over yet
More nutbarness will be taking place today i suspect  ;)

Quote from: Supertom on November 21, 2025, 05:41:09 AMThat's some insane work there. Are those green pipes made of sprue?
That they are mate ,,i'm picky as hell about what i keep and what i don't ,,some look round but ain't and even these are not dead round ,,there slightly out but its not noticeable so i stuck with these ...i'll bet there will be more going into this thing at some point along the way  ;D
A few companies now are coming out with what i call a flat pyramid shaped sprue ,,,Games Workshop  were the first many yrs ago but man those kits were never cheap so blokes getting those spruces was very far and between ,,but others now are doing it to .. Takon is one company i remember ,,i think Das Werk do to ..this shape sprue is super helpful for mounting armour plates or for making a stand off frame for anything you want lifted ..like spaced armour ..keep an eye out bud ..once you've got it ..you'll want more  ;D

Quote from: frank2056 on November 21, 2025, 08:24:00 AMThat is some beautiful work, Phill! How do you cut the styrene so cleanly? How did you make the curced sections of the roof edges? They're so smooth and even.
Thank ya Franky mate  ;D
Ahhh the corners ,, oh thats a trade  secret mate and i'll happily tell ya  ;D
Evergreen strip styrene No 250 2.5mm quarter round ...which i've got to get more off in fact ,,its made in a few different sizes as you'd expect from these guys ,,down to 1mm or 1.5mm at the smallest ,,no quote's tho  ;D
Mate it makes life ten times easier and  when done well ..makes it look a master built it when it's this wally at the other end

Quote from: Captain Canada on November 21, 2025, 08:50:07 AMWow ! This is looking amazing ! So much detail.
Thank ya Cap'n mate ...oh much more detail to come bud ,,so keep a weathered eye open eh   ;)

This one is one of my fav subjects really ,,i do love my tanks but i have a thing for support vehicles ,,ARV's ,,tractors ,,the things which ya just don't see models of all the time ,,they can be more interesting in my opinion alot of times ,,so i'm going mental on this one

Specking of which ,,been playing again ,,this is how she's sitting at the moment lads ..the engine unit is complete and in place along with the cooling system and winch is plumbed in along with it's drive shaft ,

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.  Revelling in numptytism.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed, badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry.

Now its to the arse end ,,towing mount ,,air and electrical connections and what ever else is needed there ,,then the ammo locker which should be quite easy compared to the rest of this thing 😁

You were, but then someone always sees that kind of thing as a challenge and raises the bar yet again...

Phill; that is, as has been said, an insane amount of detail - and I love it as well!

What are the red wire handles attached to the winch? Some sort of kill-switch?

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

kerick

It's going to be a shame to put a cover over all that awesomeness. I hope it will be removable.

Yup ..those rods are a manual brake and winch cutoff ..the one on the left with the T shape is the brake..right now it's in neutral..the right kills the connection with the gears inside the winch.  ;D

This is exactly how i did those matey  ;D
One of the many tablets i have to take is called Galvumet 50/1000 ,,or my horse tablets as i call em cause they is huge ,,so the packet they come in has quite nice sized pieces of foil on the back ,,took a few of those and just cut them into strips of about 1.2mm wide ,,its flexible as hell but surprisingly strong so it's great to work with but yep you can brake it as i did more than once ,,you'll see in the pics that one is missing .. i'm gonna leave that like that ,,it broke out in the field and they haven't bothered fixing it
To get the buckle affect you just loop it like your going to tie a knot but you just pass it behind the front and then pull it over itself ,,a little dab of CA and your done ,,it's small enough to look the part and man it's many times easier than trying to knot it which be like your GB build with the curse of the disappearing micro parts . ;D
