The suspension configuration reminds me a lot of the M44, but with HVSS bogies.

It's update and picture time ,,
First off the road wheels ,,now the original M6 road wheels are very different to anything else so i had to modify the Shermans ones ,,simple really ,,drill holes and then slot em ,,many many times over  :banghead:

Once that was done then it's time to pay attention to the suspension unit's ,,these i just cut off the mounts for the HVSS system and then started to play and see what i came up with ,,after 5 different idea's i finally came across an idea which worked and it was the best idea yet ,,a little cutting and spacing properly and i ended up with this ..

Guess where the tracks came from and when you do ,,the size
Now the hull ..this was a wee cockup here and there ,,its been cut down twice since i took this pic ,,its better now ,,it's also been lengthened too by 10mm ,,i messed up by spacing the bogies slightly to far apart but it's a wiff so that's ok

The rear idlers made from M3 Stuart idler wheels and there being used cause i had 4 of em and with the thickness of track i'm now using they look pretty good ,,,also i couldn't find any info at all on what the dia of the real wheel was anywhere .

Suspension mounted with mounting plates and many many 1.4mm nut head ,,also keep an eye on the drive sprocket ..it's going to change colour  ;)

For those of you blokes who noticed the drive sprocket ,,you'll also notice the teeth have also changed ...yep ,,not going with M1 tracks as the Trumpeter M1A2 tracks arre a fecking nightmare to put together and yep i tried ,,one day maybe but not this day ,,so it's M60 to the rescue ,,AFV Club ones in fact and these are alot older then the Trumpy tracks as they can also be used on M48's ,,i'm all good with that ,,much more to follow guys as this is going to be a serious build ,,i'm not holding back on this one with the details .

Yep, Phill is away again, and we're all along for the ride!
- Pointing out things of interest along the way, the occasional doze or snack too, but mainly watching the fun unfold!

And are they -251 or -7 tracks? Nice gizmological usage, whichever.

Plenty of fun to come matey 😆
As for the tracks ..nope ..wrong on both guesses

😀
German they are that's for certain but they belong to a 5 ton Sd.Kfz. 6 halftrack..the in-between halftrack.
The 7 is a 8ton and the 251 is based on the 3ton Sd.Kfz 11 halftrack 🤙

You nailed the German part very nicely 👌 😉
Here's the kicker tho ..I had to go thru a ton of tracks to find the right size ..ive got tracks for everything from a Kettengrad to the 18ton Famo and low and behold the 5ton was near perfect 👌

Of course, if you want it in its full context, then try this longer version;

No way would I have the patience to drill and slot all those wheels.

I won't disagree with that comment, but I wouldn't have the skill either
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Great scratchbuilding Phill! All those bolts were probably not much fun, though. The idler wheels look great!

Ditto!

I'd find that there was one hole/slot in each wheel that was just a little 'off' and the whole project would go onto the Shelf'o'Doom for a long while...
