The kit.



This is a Bandai Gundam kit called the Type 89 Base Jabber. Whatever any of that means. Apparently it is designed to carry Gundam mecha robots kneeling on its top and bottom platforms. I picked up the kit in Las Vegas recently during a side tour of model stores, most of which specialized in amine rather than "real" model kits. That and Tamiya Mini 4WD racecars (wait till my grandson is older!).

I liked the design and decided I could make it into an alternative Space 1999: Eagle Transporter. Same basic configuration: rockets pointing down to go up, rockets facing back to go forward, two crew up front to keep it pointed in the right direction. At 1/144 scale it looks quite a bit bigger than the Eagle. Still trying to decide what it will carry. Not a Gundam giant robot for sure!
