What modelling projects do you think you'll never build or see?

Maybe he was trying to buy a different Lanc kit.

It's more a case of "I thought I wanted the build a B.II" then realised I didn't.  ;D  :banghead:

Sabre or Centaurus was proposed for the Avro 679 aka Manchester in place of the R-R Vulture. Take a Lanc kit, ditch the outer engines, replace the inners with Sabre or Centaurus and ignore the difference in span between the Manchester and the Lancaster. Maybe even make it into a high-altitude version by adding a turbosupercharger to the Sabre or Centaurus. Axial, like a proto-Nomad for the Sabre and centrifugal for the Centaurus like the turbosupercharged Hercules that were built and tested. The H-P proposal for a "Super Halifax" had turbosupercharged Hercules.

Quote from: PR19_Kit on June 25, 2025, 04:25:35 AMWhen thinking of airship models I'm always reminded of the 1/72 scale model of the R100 airship that was in the roof of the Barnes Wallis Hut at the Elvington Museum near York.

The model was TEN FEET long!  :o  :o  :o  :o

I have dreamt of a 1/72 Zeppelin since my Dad built the Revell Albatros with the box art showing a DIII flying alongside an airship. That was 58 years ago. During Covid I sourced materials and made a "plan" but it remains a dream. A lottery win and a new house would help.

I want somebody to make a plastic M6 high speed tractor..the M4 HST (which Fred just brought) and the M5 HST's have been available as plastic kits for quite some time now and the only M6 HST available is a resin one and that's bloody near impossible to find and when ya can ..stupid expensive.
Someone has gotta do that cause I want several and I know many other armour modellers would to .
I want to build my own version of the M6 using an M4 HST as the starting point and now I want one there's none for sale in the price I want to pay..I can get em for like $40NZ ..not at the bloody moment 😆
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

I've yet to build an artillery piece or a tank. Nor submarine or sailing ship.  These are still possibilities but an airship is still beyond my budget at the moment. A rocket will be next.

I'll never build a Spitfire or anything remotely Spitfire shaped.
I didn't think I'd ever see a Blackburn Beverly, H P Hastings or A W Argosy but, those nice people at Mikro Mir solved that one! 😉👍.
In addition to the Avro Lincoln, Avro Manchester and, Avro York I don't think I will ever see, I'd like to add the Vulcan B. 1/B1A & Victor B. 1 and, Shorts Belfast.

Mach 2 do a York already, and there was an AIM vacform one as well.

I used both of them to make my Avro Leeds, as well as large chunks of FROG Shackleton.  ;D

Combat Models do a Resin Short's Belfast based on the magna models resin kit I believe. Quite large, heavy and expensive.

Regarding Belfasts, just buy an A400M, put old school propellers on, move the IFR probe to the centreline, paint it like a Belfast in RAF Transport Command colours and see who notices first...

I don't think I'll ever get to build half the stuff in my stash.  Heck, I can't even get some things finished!

Preach it, Brothah!

I keep saying something like "When I Retire", but the jury is out on whether or not that will happen...

A friend has just retired, and he's going for gold with his build rate. It remains to be seen how that will last with Grandkids, the amount in The Stash and the 'Honey-Do' list...

I feel this perspective has already been brought up in this thread..  ;)

Plus you end up with zillions of part finished project builds because it's too much faff to sort out some of the problems that arise.

Which is why my 'Project Count' is currently above 50............................. :(
