Or it maybe my painting skills have deteriorated over time.......... :(
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Nope ,,i highly doubt that matey .,..if anything mine have gotten better and your paint work still impresses the hell out of me so nope ,,it aint that .
Fred tho might be on to something ..could be quite possible that the paints have changed ,,,the manufactures bring out newer types of paint and whos to know if they have also been trying to save coins aswell  :-\
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .

I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

Saving coin is less likely than being forced to change due to eco-legislation banning chemicals in the original paints.

Chris (NARSES2) uses the same Hataka pant as I do, and he hasn't he's noticed any change in their paint  formulation recently, so I'm doubtful about  that being a factor.

Now that makes me wonder if the primer has been dicked with 🤔
Might explain why the paint won't stick to it 🤷

It's a different primer to what I've used in the past, because those bloody Halfords idiots changed their whole range and have lost a large number of their customers as a result. I'm still trying to find someone who sells the original Halfords stuff now, it's still being made, but not sold on the retail market.  :banghead:

There you go.  It's your primer.  It's not sticking to the plastic, or the paint isn't sticking to the primer, or both.

As a recommendation if you cant find your preferred Halford formulation, try Krylon's ultra flat sand rattle can.  Both Techsil and Perdix carry it for mail order (i checked), and I've never had a problem with it.  I would, however, test it on a paint mule first to see if it suits your needs

This afternoon I found a motor parts shop that sells Hycote Primer, which is what the original Halfords stuff was.  ;D

I was tempted to buy their entire stock of grey primer, but I contented myself with two cans.

RESULT!

All I've got to do now is get the knackered OFF the Arado!  :banghead:

Luckily it's not as bad as the Dragon, and I may be able to sand it of the worst areas, which are on the fuselage between the canopy and tail. Fingers crossed.

That paint is still very fresh Kit ...a good oven cleaner will make it go bye bye clean and fast .
The more toxic the cleaner the better ..and yep i use it outside
Oh use a Heavy duty one ,,i use a brand called Easy Off heavy duty ..the fume free one is weak as hell ...it will remove paint with is decades old ,,takes a while but it does it  ;D

I find the foaming formula works better than the non-foaming kind.

And yeah, old enamel doesn't stand much of a chance with it.
