If its acrylic paint then Mr Color levelling thinner should remove the paint and primer

Thanks for all those ideas gentlemen, I'll try a few of them out over the next few days.

Your welcome. Here's the test, there's a bomb and silver undercarriage doors in acrylic (I think its Humbrol and Citadel respectively), another bomb in Halfords primer and the hard-core test, a Tornado air brake in Humbrol enamel that's over 30 years old.

I've also got three brushes I used last night and neglected to rinse them before bed. Worth a try as they're ruined.  :banghead:
After about 15 minutes it seemed to be doing something, there was some residue when I rubbed the bristles.

I'll leave them at least overnight and report back.

I've found that some acrylics can be removed by scrapping with a fingernail. Or just a strong tape.

Vallejo acrylics can sometimes be removed with harsh language...

FWIW Brake Fluid doesn't dissolve resin parts.  It turns them into squishy blobs.
I don't know what it would do to 3d printed parts.  It would depend what they were printed from I suppose.  Not something we always know if we are buying them rather than making our own.

What is Power Spray's working ingredient?  How does it feel on your skin?  Does it make it feel soapy like caustic soda does?  Do they advise wearing gloves?

For what it's worth, the Eazi Strip Gel doesn't appear to have done any harm to the resin bits I put it on yesterday.

That's what happened on my Dragon, but even the primer came off with the tape too!  :o

Mossie, Deluxe Materials "Brush Magic" will bring brushes back from the grave - seriously. Been using it for a few years now

Would probably attack the resin though, to put it mildly.

One thing I found by accident is that white spirit can fade them with rubbing, but not entirely remove them. It can give a bit of colour variation, useful for armour builds.

I found out when trying to do some dot filter weathering with oil paints on a 1/72 A7V. The dot filter technique didn't go to plan, but I got the result I was after just rubbing the Vallejo paint lightly with a cotton bud dampened in white spirit.

By white spirit you mean paint thinner or lacquer thinner?

White spirit (AU, UK and Ireland)or mineral spirits (US, Canada), also known as mineral turpentine (AU/NZ/ZA), turpentine substitute, and petroleum spirits, is a petroleum-derived clear liquid used as a common organic solvent in painting.

It's less harsh than Thinners.  It's called "Turps" here in Victoria.

Was always called Turps here in S London as well.

I bought a double pack of Fairy Ultra Clean, or whatever it's called, and a plastic tub big enough to take the Dragon today.

So I taped up the windows and other holes on the Dragon's fuselage, poured all the Fairy stuff into the the tub, and realised I was going to need THREE times as much to submerge the model, but what the hell. I dumped it in there anyway, at least the bottom will strip, or not, as the case may be.

After a couple of hours I took a look and the stuff is all bubbling away like a witches' cauldron!  :o

The paint's starting to peel off the underside of the wings though   but my tape patches have peeled off. :( That means the fluid will have got inside, so bang goes my nicely painted cockpit detailing. No idea what I can do about that now, the canopy is GLUED in place!  :banghead:

We'll see how things go in the morning.

Yeah, that sort of stuff is death to adhesive tape...

To remove the canopy, a razor saw is your friend... better than using a knife, as I have found to my cost and a broken transparency... any gaps can be made good with a sliver of plastic.

But you know all this, of course. Depends how much 'Faffage' you want to indulge in...

As for the topside, soaking a paper towel in it and draping it over the model should do the trick.

PR19_Kit

It's coming along nicely this morning, paint peeling off all over the place. I'll have at it with the trusty old toothbrush later and see how much I can get off.

The razor saw should work OK on the rear joint of the canopy, but the lower edge is curved, so that'll be multiple passes with the scalpel I guess. I DON'T relish that bit at all. :(
