I'm raring to go on this GB, can't we start off a few days early and finish early too? 

With only a few days before the start it's not worth starting a non-GB model of course and my fingers are twitching with no styrene to carve about.

Here's the primary bits of my One Week Build entry.



That's a Sword U-125A with one of Colin Freightdog's Armament trainer conversions for the HS125 Dominie added to it, plus a couple of Harpoons and maybe a couple of 'winders for self defence. That's assuming there'll be enough ground clearance under the wings for the 'poons that is!

It'll be an RAF replacement for the ill-fated Nimrod MR2s and MRA4s, and most of it will be British, unlike the RW P-8 Poseidons.

That seems like more than a weeks work to me, good luck Kit!

I've had two ideas, both inspired by a tin of spray paint I found. One is a whiff-in-a-box and the other just a paint job, so construction-wise, they're not difficult. I might do both. The envelope pushing element is that one is a resin kit, and I've never built a full resin kit before.

Freightdog 1/72nd MUSTARD Glider, from the British space programme you probably don't remember....

S&M 1/72nd FV432 astronaut escape vehicle, from the same space programme. Basically the UK equivalent to NASA's real life M113s, one of which sat at the bottom of the zip-line escape system from the rockets/shuttles for the astronauts to drive to safety in, presumably through something of a blaze...
(Yes, the astronauts all got taught to drive it, and yes, they all have ear-to-ear grins on their faces.)

Both painted yellow, of course.

I'll start both so that if one hits problems (likely me messing up the resin MUSTARD glider), the other will finish.

Good luck with the Mustard, easiest kit I've produced! A tip to speed things up, the undercarriage is fiddly and will induce swearing! I think it would have looked better with a single ME163 style landing skid? Not how it was designed, but landing on a grass strip with a skid might have been an easier option.

Yeah I was looking at the undercarriage as well. I was thinking of replacing it with wire if it broke during cleanup.

Tempted to beat a Bilek (Airfix mould) Hampden into submission for this year's one-weeker. 

But I don't exactly have a great track record when it comes to meeting the deadline!

Tangmere model show on Saturday, so might pick up something less demanding.  Or I might just sit back and watch the fun.

I did indeed find something less demanding at Tangmere but it'll be RW. 

A brief exchange in a different thread has provided rather out-of-the-blue inspiration but I've only 4.5 days of the 1-weeker period in which to build it.  And yes, Dizzy would have built it twice in that time!

Do I go for it or not?  🤔

I know this year's 1-weeker only finished yesterday but I'm struck by the ongoing interest in a couple of the completed entries.  Don't recall that happening previously.

No, the HS Dragon AEW proposal is still on my list for a future project.
