My Father and Mother met at Woomera.   He held security pass #3. He was the assistant project manager for the creation of Woomera.  He was in charge of Woomera Village and acted as it's initial Mayor.  He ran the Woomera News - the local newspaper and he broke many stories to the local Adelaide newspaper, the Advertiser, including the scandal that at the Federal Election of 1950, a half a dozen workers voted Communist (of which he was one, he did it for a lark) and questions were asked in Cabinet about it.  Naughty, naughty!

Today, my daughter is at university with kids that grew up in Woomera and is held in awe by them as the Grand-Daughter of the man who created their hometown.

What a fascinating vid, and amazing that your father was THE Man there too!

The 'museum' of all the projects and aircraft that operated from there looked great, and they all seemed in pretty good condition too. Ironic that the Canberra needs a tail prop, just like every model Canberra ever made!
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)
