Yep as the title says but this wasn't the original plan at all  :o
The original plan was a Boeing Stearman float plane and the plan was to use the float from the Zero but it's a wee bit on the large side 😀
Well you guys know all to well how our brains work and I really wanted to build a bi plane
It's also got the propeller from a Mk1 Hurricane cause I wanted a bigger spinner
I'll throw some build pics up tomorrow 🤪

Ok ,,after messing around with this little bird and finally figuring out what to use for the bracing wires this is how she looks now .
The bracing wires by the way are made from elastic used for tying bait  to a fish hook  ;)
Here she is ..
This is getting the wings to sit how i wanted em ..

And as if by magic this is what it looks like ...really for primer ..which it already is

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Naturally.  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

F**kin' A mate.
Open cockpit?

I'm intrigued you rigged it before you painted it.  Elastic rigging can sometimes not react well with the solvents in paint.  Don't ask me how I know this.

Looks great as a float bi-plane! What did you do about the Stearman ribbing, especially on the upper wing? I guess you could call them wing mounted fuel tanks.

Wardukw

Thanks lads  ;D  ;D .
This had now completely dried primer wise so tomorrow there's possibility paint hitting it.
Haven't quite decided what colours to go with..light gray under sides ..dark gray uppers..standard colour by the look of it 🤔

Fred mate it's a full canopy on this ..it's gonna be open but yeah..still full  ;D
This elastic is sweet it seems ..I'd first painted it with AK Interactive real colors markers in flat black..just so you can see it and was surprised at how well this paint covered it 😀
The primer is automotive and no worries there either 🙂

Franky mate, yep, that's exactly where the fuel tanks will be..some of em anyway ..that was planned right some the start which I just decided on 5mins ago

Good looking bird Wardukw! Must have quite hard to lengthen the wings although if they inserts are tanks it's easier. Great improvisation.

Love the good looks of it. The double wings and float work great on a zero.

This actually does look pretty good!  Looks like it would be an even tighter turning plane than the regular Zero with that extra wing, in spite of having the float!
