Designed by Mario Castoldi as one of several ideas he had for a new fighter in the mid-1930s, the aircraft found little favour due to only average handling and its outdated fixed undercarriage.
Only one aircraft was produced, which ended up being a company hack for a time until war broke out, when it was pressed into service as a factory defence fighter until it was damaged in a hard landing. Unfortunately, in an earlier air raid, most of the records for the aircraft were destroyed, which meant that repairing the aircraft was impossible, so it was scrapped.

The idea for this build came from following a real-world build on Britmodeller. I will take any inspiration from where I find it. I bought the base kit off eBay a couple of weeks ago at a reasonable price, only to find at the Scottish Nationals last weekend, the same kit for less than I paid  :banghead:  Typical

Anyway, so far I am really enjoying what I have been doing, which is cutting up plastic

One modified wing

Yes, there is more work to be done, but I believe that I have a good basis to start with. The other wing has also been similarly worked on, but I now have the problem of remembering which is the top and which is the bottom of these replacement wings  :banghead:

While some filler is drying in the gaps from chopping up the donor wings, I think it's time to turn to the fuselage.

There is not much inside this old kit, so plenty of room for some improvements, not much as not much can be seen.

I think this seat needs a bit of a makeover

Maybe a complete rebuild or replacement  :-\

A little more work so far today. I'm trying to do at least one little bit per day. Today, so far, I have glued the upper decking to one fuselage half; the other half is there to help with alignment.

Next, I will be detailing the inside of the cockpit. Not going to put much in there, a bit of structure and an instrument panel should do it. Does anyone know of a good colour to paint the inside of late 1930's Italian aircraft?

Eggplant?

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Italian internal colour ? A light bluey/green. I've seen Humbrol 23 mentioned in the past, which is Duck Egg Blue.
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Gondor

Thank you guys! No Humbrol 23 in my stock, but as I have access to the internet, I am sure I can find an equivalent. Saying that, I have just finished placing an order to the BIG yellow H before I logged onto here, so no chance I am going to order anything from them until next month.

So I found out that Hobbycraft stocks the paint, there is a store near my work and it has stock, so the net tells me  :-\  After work tomorrow, I will go in and see if there is any available or not. If the latter, then it will be down to good online shopping to fill my need.

Captain Canada

Looking good so far. I'm off to google to see if I can find an idea of what she might end up looking like.
