The tripple T

Ukraine ,,summer of 2024 ..The Azov brigade are on a village clearing mission in the Donbas region after footage from a high altitude recon drone found several russian positions which were discovered which had been eluding the Ukrainian forces .
The main targets of the mission are the very well hidden MLRS ( Multiple Launch Rocket System ) vehicles which the Vampire drones were having a hard time dropping bombs on ...during the first attack the Azov brigade destroyed 3 BM-21 rocket systems and there ammo dumps which for some extremely stupid reason were within 10 metres of the vehicles themselves ...still the Azov soldiers  were not complaining .
But ,,in the next position number for things changed ..complaining wasn't heard ,,laughter ,,a ton of laughter was heard when what they discovered came into view ...the tripple T as the troops nick named it ,,pictures were taken and sent back the the head shed for them the see for themselves when the messages they received were not believed ...so impressed were they that orders were put in place to recover this thing to be put on display in Kiev for everyone to laugh at .

If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

German 13.0cm SD.Kfz 188 Selbstfahrlafette "Sturer Anmil"

Heres the link
https://www.whatifmodellers.com/index.php?topic=53683.60

Russia ...the Siberian steps ..summer ...sitting in a well prepared firing position sits the  German 13.0cm SD.Kfz 188 Selbstfahrlafette "Sturer Anmil"..a true monster of a tank hunter ,,with a Rheinmetall PAK 45 130mm gun with a killing range of 2.5kms firing the APDS round .
Now how did this come around ...well in Germany in 1943 an order was issued for a new tank destroyer as the Allies were now fielding tanks with much tougher armour and more powerful guns .
Orders were issued to Alkett,,MAN, Porsche and Henschel for a prototype as soon as possible ...which at that time of the war meant yesterday .
All manufactures apart from Henschel and Rheinmetall-Borsig who would join Henschel had no chance to build a new prototype as they were very busy with their own orders to deal with producing vehicles for the German war effort.
Problems began pretty much right at the start ...engines where in very short supply so plans changed right there when it was decided to run two engines instead of one ..that intern meant a new gear box had to be built to be able to link the two engines  together .
The original engine was going to be the new Maybach HL230P30 700hp ment for the new Tiger ll which was under development at the time but with so few engines actually built and time against them two Maybach 120TRM 300hp engines would be used instead .
Combined there two engines would be at least 100hp below the original engine of choice which would lead to other problems they didn't know about yet .. cold weather would suck even more horse power from these two engines which lead to the vehicles top speed alittle under 17kms per hour on hard ground ..in soft mud this would go below 10kph .
The weight was also going to be an issue with the extra engine and all of its ancillaries aswell taking the overall weight up to the 55ton mark when everything is taken into account .
The weapon of choice was going to be the Rheinmetall Pak 45 130mm anti tank gun ...this weapon was a developmental version of the  Pak 44 128mm AT gun ,,it was ordered by Hitler to be used as he felt ( and we all know this ) that bigger is better ...not taking into the fact of course that the guns rounds were now 2mm wider and 37mms longer which increased the weight by nearly 4kgs ,,taking the overall weight now up to 41kgs for the warhead alone,,which intern gave this vehicle a pathetic amount of onboard ammo of 12 main gun rounds .
In combat and this came to the surprise of no one that the Anmil  was an extremely heavy, unreliable Pile Of Steel ...the main gun ,,even though it would kill anything the guns rounds would hit,,the situation of the ammunition supply was a nightmare as the Allies kept bombing the factories where they were made and because these rounds were only made by one factory ,,this became a massive problem to the point that at one point 9 out of the 10 vehicles made were in hiding dew to not having any ammo for there main guns ,
Not like this was much of a problem really as there was an extremely good chance it would break down at some point anyway with its mechanical unreliability ..the final drives would shred gear teeth if you tried to turn to shape at speed..the transfer case which sends power to the gearbox would split its case for some unknown reason which wouldnt happen to often as the left hand side engine had a tendency to overheat ...another problem which never got a chance to be overcome .
The    Selbstfahrlafette "Sturer Anmil" ended the war the same as pretty much most German armoured vehicles did ...either destroyed or captured to be later blown to bits on the ranges at Allied  tank gun ranges .
