First up is the Whirlwind parked outside which they were trying to start the engine on.  I walked outside just in time to see flames coming out the exhaust!  And I don't mean little flames either, I mean big full on flames.  You can see the bloke in the fire suit, he's just squirted the fire extinguisher up the exhaust and also opened the nose hatch and sprayed it in there too.  They tried several more times that day but I don't think they got it going  :dum:

Davey B

aw DAMN man!!!!!

See, this is why I need a car -- bloody busses don't run to Doncaster on a Sunday! It's like being trapped in The League of Gentlemen round 'ere...

Ollie

Good Lord!

Terry's a real good builder!

What kit did he used for the Crusaders?

And it's not a good idea to spray a fire extinguisher up an exhaust, it'll corrode your engine very badly very quickly...

<_<

Captain Canada

Thanks, Nevster !

Would have been cool to see that old Whirlwind come to life, eh ? maybe next time !

And agreed, Ollie....that radish is one awesome modeler ! More, more ! We want more !

How about a few close ups of those Crusaders ?

The Crusader is 1/48th Revell/Monogram.

There's another few to photo.....Japanese "Aggressor", 92 Sqn RAF, another RN, and ready (still!!) to paint is an RF-8E from Pakistan, and the Bolivian "Tiger stripe" is part-built too.

Unfortunately, we didn't have much room at Doncaster this time.
Hopefully more next time.

Lovely Mixmaster too, Chris ! Looks good in the B-25 colours. I'd have to admit knowing nowt about them, tho....are they piston powered ? Or jet/ piston ? That's my assumption being tagged 'mixmaster'.

Who did the cool looking Mirage behind it ?

Cheers !

The "cool-looking Mirage" is my Spectre GR.2, with the missing nose after the removal of parts and a crash......it's usually on a base with a story, but I removed the base so others could display.
We needed more room, but next time.........?????

More Spectres on the way too

The name Mixmaster is a bit of a missnomer I suppose, there was a test version which had podded auxilary jets under the wings, but the design as flown was twin piston engines burried in the fusalge, each driving a separate airscrew. Gave it the same speed as a Mossie but greater bombload (also 5 years or so latter, with all the advances in aerodynamics etc - I know the Mossie dosn't need an apologea, but to the uninitiated it could be miss-read as a criticism). As for the B-25 finish I had the spare "transfers" (I'm starting a campaign for proper English, ask the lads who were at Donnie) and I've had a pathalogical fear of NMF's ever since childhood and Humbrol Silver Fox - I will buy a can of Halfords Datsun Silver one day, honest Nev. I may get another for the projected "A" version.

I just love all those wonderful designs from the late 40's, early 50's that because of a thankfully early end to the war never came to fruition, so I'm in Hog Heaven as far as Anigrand's future projects list is concerned.

A good little show, I thought - even if I was exiled to the mezzanine!  And here you are . . . . .

This may be only the second pic I've ever seen of Rad's work.  You brush paint (not airbrush) right?  Sure looks airbrushed though.

Rad, didn't you say something about having already bought a digicam at some point awhile back?
You know, there's no shame in asking Mid how to operate the camera...do it for us!
