Meh! Mere Modellers Hands are something we all have - try something different!  ;)

If you cut a 2x4 just the right length you can wedge it under the panels while you work. Works pretty good if the pieces aren't very big.

Doesn't work that well whilst trying to hold a 1200mm x (approx.) 2000mm sheet of 12mm ply above your head, whilst standing on a ladder, & trying to edge it into position, so you can then hold it in place with one hand, while the other manipulates the sliding clamp to temporarily hold the ply in place, so you can make the final millimetric positional adjustments before putting the second clamp in place to hold it in place & reset the positioning of the first clamp. Then I get to screw the bl00dy thing to the steel joists!

You really need to recruit a helper, but you probably already know that.

That would be nice, but I don't have any available, right now.

However, as I've finished the ceiling, it's a lot less likely that I'll have anything drop on me, now...

... Unless I drop one of the 19mm wall panels on me.

Been there, done that.

Kudos mate.

Boarding out ceilings is a "pleasure" I now leave to the young.  Back when I was young ISTR we'd work as a pair lifting a sheet of plasterboard into position and then holding it in place with our heads while we got enough nails in to allow us to relax.

Between '91 and '94.  30 years   :o eek.
No glue then either.  Just nail the board to the ceiling joists.

I know. It scares the **** out of me that we are a quarter of a way through the 21st Century  :o

Back when I was in high school I could not imagine living in the 21st century. I couldn't imagine being 66 years old either.

When I was young I worked out that there was a good chance I'd actually be alive to see the 21st century in.

That was a bit of a shaker, but when it did arrive it wasn't all that special really.
