Looks like they were race boats, just MILITARY race boats!  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage

Those are seriously big utes.

They're probably 7 tonners.  Just with a fancy and shiny (commercial-grade) grey paint scheme, instead of CARC Sand.

But the real question is how many gallons to the mile?

Doesn't matter, they're on the taxpayer's dollar...

They look a bit like a Ford F650/750, for those the specs say not quite 8 miles to the gallon   ;D ;D ;D  About the same as my old Dodge C-Class motorhome which had a 440ci gasoline engine

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

I couldn't believe some of the private yachts we saw when we were at Atlantis in the Bahamas. Man, some people have serious cash

Unfortunately I'm not one of them. :-\

I found Split a fascinating place when I was there in 2018, on a cruise with SWMBO & some friends. Diocletian's palace is really interesting, both for its history & its current status as what is basically a residential suburb. Also went to Trogir, the Old Town is a real Mediaeval maze & the area is stunningly beautiful (SWMBO stated the desire to retire there but, as we aren't mega-yacht owners, it's off the bucket list).

My immediate reaction on reading that Wiki entry was 'How the hell did they build and launch a ship that big in WISCONSIN? It's in the middle of the USA!' But I forgot that it's on the Great Lakes...............  :banghead:  :banghead:
