Captain Canada

The lovely wife took this picture last week

I've been hoping to go down and catch the CCG breaker Griffon doing her buisness as well.

Cheers !

Went down to the river to watch the ice with the wee man. What a rush ! That stuff crashing together when it hits the steel under the bridge is pretty wild.....

Anyway, here's a few CCG boats we spotted behind the marina.

Hey! I didn't know we had Cape Class lifeboats here! Those are built on the same plans as the USCG's self-righting rescue boats. Look 'em up on Youtube -- pretty amazing what they can do.

Poor planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part...

Cap'n that makes me so home sick... My sweetie made it back to Sarnia/Courtright over Christmas but didn't have a chance to stop in at Dave's shop. If you're by D&B's One Stop, say hi for me...

Roger....I'll tell him you said hi !

Rally, I was quite surprised to see them myself. They even have ladders leading up to each one, but I didn't want to push my luck.....

There was a Type 23 anchored in Weymouth bay this afternoon. Lovely view of her, in perfect profile, but I didn't have my camera... :banghead:
Some of my models can be found on my Flickr album >>>HERE<<<

I had to run into Olde Town this morning to visit the Water Department.  Their office is directly across the river from BAE Systems in Norfolk.  I was able to snap the following:

USS Boxer (LHD-4)

A Berthing, Repair and Messing Barge (YRBM)

A Self-Propelled Barracks (if I read the hull number correctly, this one's WWII-vintage)

Finally, the destroyer USS Gonzalez (DDG-66), with an unidentifiable (hull number obscured) Aegis cruiser behind.
