Fabbing up a refuelling probe this morning. This is the Academy/ Minicraft J Herc in 144th scale. It has engine nacelles for the earlier models, but no props. The props form the GWH H model ( that has the modern H upgraded props as well ) will go on this one. Then I will need to source another set of props for the GWH one lol.

I love what you're doing with the Beverly Mk II -  IMHO it looks so much better than the original Mk I.   

Sea Vulcan - hmmm.  Gonna take one heck of a tail-hook to stop that beast.    And, now that you've opened that door, can a Sea Valiant and Sea Victor be far behind?  What about a Sea Canberra?

Upgrading my little Phantom. Cut the gun off and made it more rounded, squared the tail a bit and added the ECM ( still to be trimmed ) IAF style probe is a piece of thin hobby wire stuff.

Removed the wee dome on the roof and filled it with putty. Two will be standard 1982 era camo, one will be wrap around with a black fuselage bottom, and AAR probe, and wing ECM pods

IIRC those astrodomes only lasted into the RAF Herk's 'Desert Camo' period. I guess technology advanced to a level where they didn't need to take star sights after that.

Until someone takes out the GPS satellites & we're back to sextants, compasses, maps & dead-reckonning.

Australian Army dropped map reading & navigation at some point on the late-90s/early-00s to become solely reliant on GPS systems, I believe, but has recently reintroduced them, according to an article I read (sometime over the last couple of years).

That would have upset my late father, he had a flair for astronav. If he hadn't been a pilot, he would have probably been on the bench behind them.

The ECM fitted under the wing tips on very short pylons/stubs were Orange Crop ECM.

Vulcan would look good in two grey ! I'm painting the bottom with XF81, close enough for me. The 707 is getting a cargo door. I hope to finish it in CAF colours with a lightning stripe.
