In the middle of the 1960s the North American F-100 was deployed to Vietnam for the US Air Force. Very soon it became clear that the USAF needed more aircraft in Vietnam but it was not very successful against the Mig-17s of the North Vietnamese. The USAF replaced the F-100 with the F-4 Phantom but the lack of a gun in the Phantom was a problem.

Looking for a alternative the USAF bought 100 Hawker Hunters from the RAF to supplement the fighter force in Vietnam. The Hunters were operated by the USAF as the F-112 Hunter and were very successful combating the North Vietnamese MiG-17s and MiG-19s.

I like it!!!
And you could say they were handed over to the South Vietnamese like the F-5s were.

That looks remarkably possible in that colour scheme too.

Is it possible for a Hunter to ever look anything other than beautiful? No. No I say!

Good job.

My Hunter's back story mentions service in the Vietnam theatre but that's not the one I built.  This is great.
