At https://www.whatifmodellers.com/index.php?topic=50700.0 I found a broken model of F-16 1/144 and modified it into better, without finding the missing fin. Well, I have found several other parts coming from somewhere, unidentified, 1/72 scale it seems:  :-\

And here are candidates, models with maybe missing parts to install back, maybe changed inverted from one to another not to replicate exactly the old ones:  :-\

This seems to be a P-38 tail, mounted on sprues as booms, while I will not put it back on what seemed a P-38 flying wing, or if it has not been done before. To check:  :-\

Ahem, I have found the source for the twin-booms and the push-pull engines:

but I don't want to replicate this, I prefer whifing again, so I will mount the booms symmetric this time, to change, and put the push-pull engines elsewhere, this model can be a glider.

Well, this was ready to glue on, into the P-38S Simplified Lightning (or Silent Lightning) but when I added a drop of glue on one of the booms, it was broken again, away from the tail, so completion will be another day :-\

Not another day at last: a few hours have been enough. And here is the P-38S finished, drying...

Looks good, my friend.  :)  I was going to suggest putting the push-pull engines on the tail-plane, but you said you had other plans for those.  :)
Thistle dew, Pig - thistle dew!

Where am I going?  And why am I in a handbasket?

It's dark in the dark when it's dark. Ancient Ogre Proverb

"All right, boyz - the plan iz 'Win.'  And if ya lose, it's yer own fault 'coz ya didn't follow the plan."

Thanks!
I think these push-pull engines are much too big for that, destroying the harmony of this little bird, but you are very right: I may "put" them there (without glue at all) to have a look and show you (or decide so, yes, maybe). We will see.
(I cannot do it right now cause the flash of my camera is in a jam and it is the middle of the night - being waken up by pain, thanks for your words, providing a smile which is the best cure). So: tomorrow maybe.

Before I take other pictures, I am playing with the old ones, mirror copy before and after transformation: ;)

And, as I prefer twin-boomers than triplex-boomers, I change a few pixels: <_<

As drawings, here is the collection up to now. All of them are Silent Lightnings (without engine) while the middle one is the Simplified Lightning (with tail, two symmetric booms, one single pilot pod, but no engine and reduced span): <_<

Ahem... checking practically: the propeller is larger than the distance between booms, it cannot turn between them without crash of the blades...  :-\ I don't like the idea of cutting (cleanly?) the  blades of the front propeller (or the  blades of both propellers), so I think I will not make this installation and the P-38S will remain a (silent) glider (in plastic I mean, even if everything is possible as drawings, thanks for this addition)

And here is the 4-view aspect of the Simplified Lightning, a 2022-whif made from a 2018-whif: <_<
