One of my earlier designs was the F-16 Delta Dagger in an attempt to increase the underwing hard points and increase the range. A deal between General Dynamics and the Eurofighter Typhoon could have been struck. New engines and improved avionics.

Staying with the F-16 but using a blending wing with forward swept wings and two engines.

Staying with something more familiar the F-16XL,an updated version. New engines, avionics and possibly two tail fins on this 1/144 scale build.

Depending on what book or magazine article you read the Mig-29 is said to be a better aircraft than the F-16. I'm no expert on this, the USAF so far has never purchased a fixed wing V/STOL but if they did this might be it.
The Mig-29 Sea Fulcrum.

Another contender might be the F-32, with its missiles stored in internal weapons bay(s) and on pylons under the wings.  The air intake would need to be improved before entering service.

Or play it safe with the Tornado Delta

Other contenders worth mentioning are the F-20 Tigershark, Saab Gripen and the F-17 Cobra. Or even the Jaguar with a few improvements/enhancements.

 I love your new F-16 shapes, most of all the one looking partly like the SR-71 with mid-wing engines

I took it down to the RAF Museum at Hendon when they had the last model show .Kids were asking their parents 'what is it and do we fly them?' Or
'I want to be a pilot and fly one of those'.

Thanks, I will be on the lookout for cheap 1/72 F-16 kits or started builds as I want to create the F-16 Delta and the F-16 + 1/??? SR-71 kitbash. The 1/72 F-16XL kits are very hard to find although there's the 1/48 scale kit.
Along with those started builds, the F-32 is still a working progress, I have the parts to finish the Tornado Delta and the Sea Fulcrum just needs tidying up.

There is also the 1/144 F-16XL from China's Mini Hobby Models, I am used to buy these kits with full satisfaction.

I have looked for a SR-71 too and found only a Lego-like one there:

Its size is 438mm long (44cm, 17 inches), rather big moreover.

Will my F-53 Swordsdragon designs on deviantart if everyone can check out be a suitable replacement for the Fighting Falcon?

McColm

I think an F-16 kitbashed with F-18 wings and twin tail fins.

Hmmmm, the first time I've ever seen a totally blank post here........... :(
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Regards
Kit

Any thoughts on my f-16 replacement? It's designed to operate from forward facing rough field operations such as ice snow sand swamps rivers oceans streams rough surfs rocky cliffs mountains rainforests volcanoes lava etc
