FAR148

Years ago, I started a "Family model" (two-seater) Scooter project. Got halfway through it then life showed up. And not in a good way. Lost my job, apartment and had to move out of state. Along with my passion to build eroded to nothing. Fortunately, after some time things changed for the better and it was time to get back to my scooter build. And like my life, my build idea changed too. It was going to be based on a theoretical Royal Australia Air Force Scheme from Richard Chafer, but now she will be flying for the Hellenic Air Force. And because I enjoy building in pairs, I added another scooter to this project. An A-4M, she's the "Single Girl". Flown by Natasha Drakos callsign "Chiana". "Family model" is flown by Zander "Boomer" Leos.

A very nice couple. The "Ghost" scheme works very well on the A-4.  Maybe a 3rd one could carry an Aegean Blue livery?

I especially like the single.

Why are they red under the slats? It looks cool but I as thinking that they become good aiming references if they open during a dogfight. ... unless they are only used for take off and landing.

Gondor

The Red is a Warning I beleive orijonated with the US Navy and I think has been adopted by the other branches of the US armed forces. I beleive that it to denote a "moveing part so stay clear"

Skyhawk slats are gravity operated & are closed at speed due to air pressure, only opening for slow speed manoeuvring, such as landing. On the deck they always hang open showing the red inside.

The red is a quick reference for the pilot to ensure the slats had opened and/or closed, as they were prone to jamming if the wings were stressed during heavy manoeuvring (especially at low speed).
