Just found: AWST in this weeks issue has released a photo of the plane the Lockheed submitted as a compeditor for the Advanced Tactical Bomber competiton that ultimetly lost to the Northrop B-2 code named Senior Peg.

My noon, my midnight, my talk, my song;
I thought that love would last forever; I was wrong.

The stars are not wanted now; put out every one:
Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun;
Pour away the ocean and sweep up the woods:
For nothing now can ever come to any good.

Hmm, I can see why Northrop won.  The original Northrop design, not what it evolved into, was both cleaner and more efficient.  *G*They're still calssified, but some of the schemes played with in 1983 during the low-level reconfiguration were "interesting".  *Snicker* One of our configuration control engineers did a hilarious parody, "The Case of the Disappearing Baseline.'  This auhtro was a creative type; I do wish I'd saved the course prospectus he put together for a "Masters fo Engineering Degree in Viewgraph Engineering".

Looks like a cross between an F-117, a B-2 and a Fouga Magister!  :lol:

I'll ahve to scan and post the pics of the other project depicted in the AW&ST article, Senior Prom.  I *think* it was Lockheed's competitor to Northrop's winning entry for TSSAM.

Just for grins, I'm going to have to check that book of code names for some I've worked on; I'll give odds they aren't there.

am i right in guessing that the 'butterfly' tail unit is an 'add on' to a free flight stability model or is it actually part of the design???

hmmm...itd be neat to find out more details of the design to enable a model to be completed!
