Hi my Whatif brothers,

Here are some piccies of what I have been up to lately.
All these shots can be accessed through Photobucket.
Here we go.
First up is the completed modified MIG 15 which I call Prince Charming's plane.
Wife loves it.

That's all fellows. How do you like them?

Holy crap!!  You GO man!

Wow, that 747 is overwhelming, you crazy model-type-guy-you!!  Couldn't believe my eyes when I opened that link to the patchwork version.

Would sure like to see the Modified MiG in a clear shot as it looks very intriguing, too!

Keep 'em coming.

Styrene in my blood and an impressive void in my cranium.

Allan

Hi Baz,

Thanks, mate! High praise from you.

As for the Aztec Empire Air Force plane, the engine nacelles are now on and sanded and all I have to do is put on the nose cone and canopy before I spray on some more gold paint.

I bought the paint at the local $2 shop and it goes on okay, but not 100% smoothly. By that I mean it's not a uniform coating. There seems to be patches where the paint looks different from the surrounding areas. Sorta hard to explain without a photo.

Next week we have our monthly committee meeting and I'll try to get some more shots for you.

I'll attach the little plane to the 747 with some lead from a propelling pencil.

Wonder what I can do about the undercarriage of the little plane, probably just paint the struts black at the tips?

What about the propellor-how can I make a convincing one in this teeny scale?

Love the Jumbo but you need to swat that pesky fly off it.  BTW what is the sharpened sprue treatment?

I invite all and any criticism, except about Eric The Dog, it's not his fault he's stupid

That's it, Allan ! I order you to take more vacations !

Great models Al - if that Jumbo ever sheds it's skin you'll have a lovely pair of shoes  :P

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Oooh boy, that mistel is giving me the horn.

And an idea - put a Trent on each inboard pylon, they have about the same thrust as three JT9 Ds so you get more oomph. Now you hang an F-104 under each outer pylon, and you have a bomber with two escort fighters...

The pills, the pills, where's my pills...?

Lovely stuff Allan!

I do not like them: I love them...  Most of all the MiG-15 sweetheart   My wife saw her above my shoulder and commented "so lovely"...
[the word "realistic" hurts my heart...]

Allan

Hi fellows and Tophe's wife (give her a hug for me, mate!)

Thanks for your kind comments re my humble models.......

Do you think I should weather my (now that it's) gold-painted Aztec Empire Air Force Ta-154 with a litle silver here and there at the wings' leading edges and other places, or would gold plate never really wear away?

Should I paint the props gold too or matt black to break things up a little?

Whaddya think fellows?????

Allan in Canberra

Help also needed re prop for the little plane on the 747 too.................

The rear surfaces should definitely be black, I think they'd learn pretty quickly that a shiny surface would be blinding.

Oh well, that's a defensive system.

1) Enemy spots planes from miles away.

2) Chuckles at the easy target, balls to the wall and zooms in.

3) Too late, realizes that shiny target is now eye-burning torch.

4) Plunges Earthward with spots on retina and tears on cheeks!  :ar:
