Do my eyes deceive me or have you extended the wings to near Welkin length as well as swapping the Peregrines for Griffons?

Your eyes are not deceiving you. The wings are extended. They're actually outerwings of an 1/94 F.27 Friendship.

The engines are swapped for resin copies of Spitfire XIV griffons (Griffon 65's 2050 hp each)

Great stuff, those two swaps work very well.  :thumbsup:
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)
