The Wooksta!

I'd like Airfix to repop the base kit, because they are getting decidedly pricey - £25+ for something at best worth a tenner?

And they're all a ZILLION years old by definition!

I've got a resin one somewhere too, but can't remember who did it.

Off the top of my head I would say Arrdvark Aviation as I have one in my stash.

I may have a spare Airfix kit Lee, if so I will put it next to the 510 for you.

four or five years ago at Model Expo someone in the swamp and smell was selling carded Airfix kits dirt cheap out of a large box and had a heap of these.  Did I buy any?  No, because obviously I am an idiot.
There was something in the water that year as someone else had a seemingly inexhaustible supply of Matchbox kits.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed, badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry.

But how much work do you need to convert a P.1127 kit into a Kestrel?

Quite a bit IIRC, the wings alone are a totally different. shape.

The one I have is a Heritage Aviation Kestral kit. I also have a spare wing for it as when I got it originally, the trailling edge of the wing was about 1.5mm thick. The replacement one was much better. If anyone wants a go at fixing the "thick" one, I can pop it in the mail. I should say the Kestral wing is quite different to the Airfix P.1127 wing and the Tripartite used Kestrals.

This thread is like the Phoenix! @PR19_Kit , any chance of a print of the Tripartite decals? When I have a shotgun marriage between a GR.1 and a P.1127 to produce the Kestrel I'll need some.

Sure, I still have the artwork filed. No problem.

As the Kestrel was the basis of the Harrier, IIRC wing could be adapted from a Harrier GR.1 wing by removing the extended wingtips.

And I think the tailplanes are the same?

EDIT: found this, may help https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235065749-hawker-siddeley-kestrel-fga1-in-172/

Anyway, one of tham thar decal sheets for me too, please, Kit!
