Flying Submarine part II
« on: May 31, 2020, 12:18:16 pm »
The second Flying Submarine kit was delivered yesterday.
The first one (https://www.whatifmodellers.com/index.php?topic=47889.0) was produced by Unicraft in 2009.
This one is from 2020. The moulding looks sharper and is a lot cleaner.

How do they get the water out of the jets when it surfaces?  :-\
Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage

Certainly does Tom. Indeed it looks quite respectable.

And what does it use for power when under water? Definitely not the jet engines!
There's someone in my head, but it's not me!

I have a copy of a design study by Convair and it talks about closing off the engines under water and using a "Whisper Buoyancy Engine" for underwater propulsion.

Convair document comes from here: http://www.aerospaceprojectsreview.com/catalog/drawndoc.htm (Air Document 1)

Anything can happen in the next half hour!

Very Anderson.  As is the other one also.

Good job.
