Getting slowed down by adapting or trying to fit an old Airwaves etched brass detail set for an Skyraider into a cockpit for the Pike

The cockpit is not going well. The fact that the width of the cockpit the etched brass was intended for is wider than the cockpit it's going into dosent help. I had thought that I could get away with but a dry run with the assembled side consoles proves otherwise  :banghead:
Plan C  looks as if it will be up next  :-\

Tried fitting the side consoles along with the kit's seat, no joy there but I did notice that the consoles widen to the rear when the fuselage narrows to the rear so there was no chance of everything fitting  :banghead:
Out with a large pair of sissors to "trim" the side consoles and then out with the super glue as one of the upper surfaces came off which was a blessing as I couldn't get the scissors angled to cut the brass.

Success!

That's most of the cockpit interior fitted, abet without glue and just to make sure I didn't need to adjust anything else

Painting the parts next then fitting the instrument panel and hope the rest will still go in or do I fir the panel last  :-\

Regardless, that's a major stumbling block out of the way

Although the rest of the etched brass fits into the cockpit the instrument panel dosent want to so its back to chopping that up and adding it peice by paice if I can.
The side consoles are now clued in place and a couple of strips of rod have been added to the underside of the seat so the piolets bum is not on the floor
It's partly frustration on my part, I don't like cockpits muchas they are so fiddily, I just have to get the cockpit done on this one or the whole thing will stall and it's one build that I really want to get finished this year.
It's only four month to Telford, which I hope goes ahead and I would really like to take this there to see all the bemused faces of the punters looking at it.

Found the missing piece of etch from the cockpit this morning, in the bedroom! Slightly surprised to actually find it but not really surprised that it was outside the modelling room.

Stuck to your foot and transported elsewhere perhaps?

I've done that a few times.
Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Kit

Stuck to your foot and transported elsewhere perhaps?

I've done that a few times.

Certainly transported on my clothing/footwear as this part was about to be applied to a glued surface and was immediately in front of me and slightly over my lap when it inextricably left the grasp of my self gripping tweezers   :banghead:
