The figures and the tractor both came from the Monogram 1/48 B-24D

I must thank Radish for tws his flesh painting technique that I used.  Simple yet effective.  Thanks mate!  :ar:

The base is a spare shelf from an IKEA CD case, masked round the edges, painted with brown enamel then sprinkled with 2 different shades of model railway grass.  Again simple but effective  :)

This is the first "armour" I've built in nearly 20 years.  Was great fun, especially dirtying the thing up, brought back some fond memories

NARSES2

So come on Nev, what's the guy pointing at ? Is it the big giant bird that just put them down ? (No track marks on grass - ideal tractor for mowing a cricket square  :P )

Seriously though good modeling in 1/48 Nev.

My technique for figure painting (mainly 25mm wargames figures) was/is to undercoat in black, that way you get the built in shadows. Bit like pre-shading panel lines I suppose (never done it myself) but been around as a technique for a whole lot longer

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Captain Canada

Cool, and inspering.
Ya know, I think I make have to go and get a chunk of armour. I got sent a ship thanks to JoeP and I kinda think I may just build her. Now this makes me wanna buy some of that runway equipment and try a diorama.
Thanks for sharing
Getting back into modeling

The Rat

Nice stuff Neil, Good to see an unusual subject every so often.

Sorry I missed that group build though. I can make 1/24th wheel chocks!  <_<

They're pointing at a limping, badly damaged B-24.  She's well late, so late in fact that most everyone on the base has given her up as lost, and they were about to post her as "missing".  But here she comes, bits missing, wounded guys on board, barely getting over the perimeter fence before touching down on the East Anglian soil safe and sound  B)

Chris - I've know the guys who paint warhammer figures and stuff often use a black undercoat, I may try it "next time".
