Hütter Hü-136 Stubo race plane in paper
« on: July 03, 2019, 03:22:15 am »
So, what if that utterly wonderfully weird looking dive bomber of the Hütter brothers really was made? Fairly impractical plane, to say the least, with just one or two bombs, an armoured cockpit with small see-through slits for a very limited view of where to fly. After the war, some of them might be converted into race planes. This is my chance, I thought, to get that legendary Gulf Porsche 24H of Le Mans scheme on a plane. So here is my Hütter Hü-136 racer. Model was designed by Noby of Thai Paperwork, recolouring by yours truly. I gave it a nice transparent canopy for a good view during the race. The original plane was fitted with jettisonable prop and a skid for a belly landing. I equipped my version with a Sukhoi-26 style fixed landing gear.
Scale? I guess about 1/48. Two-day build. Could've been one day if it weren't so bloody hot when I started building. The type of paper I used was 160 grams.

A total HOOT!

Looks great in the Gulf scheme too.  ;D

BRILLIANT!
I have built a few paper models in the past, the only one I can deffinitely remember  was a SAAB J-29 in 1/33 scale from a printed kit that I got in a terrific little shop in Kensington, near the Science Museum, back in the 1970's.
This however is truly fantastic, well done.

Congratulations for the top skills in paper models!
This Hu-136 is very interesting, and I may draw a similar Mustang, to see what the result is, thanks! ;D
