Done a little looking and enough "stuff" exists for sale that the possibilities exist. I'll dig deeper and see what I can come up with. Finding the kits is one thing, the decals.........    :o

Found a Typhoon to buy and.... turns out I already have Air France decals in 1/144. They could possibly work! I can make the fin flash work and the "AIR FRANCE" lettering is small-ish so may fit. Once I get my hands on the kit, I'll go from there and see what happens. Look for a build thread to appear at some point.

Looks good.

Bit hard on the stewardesses though. How are they supposed to serve drinks here?

Irony AND Whiffing in the same model, considering the French attitude to the Eurofighter project.  ;D

Ohhh!!! So there's some lore up in here I don't know about! Didn't know about this. Although, I don't know much of anything about the Eurofigther other than it's a really good, pretty small single engine jet fighter.

Actually the Typhoon, the RAF's name for the Eurofighter, is quite large and it's got two engines.

The French Government pulled out of the original Eurofighter project in favour of developing the indigenous Rafale, naturellement.....  ;)

lmao   Thank you!  See, I know next to nothing about these. Was it the Rafale I'm thinking of? I know it looks similar. ONE of them made over there I swear remembering being a smaller delta wing "something or other" but this is a massive weak spot in my knowledge of planes. Funny, because I identified this weakness last winter and I resolved to try to learn more about European fighters to avoid situations like this and ....well... here we are.  ;D    I think the one I was thinking of was copied by the Chinese, as well??  I have a model of that one somewhere.  EITHER WAY, I'm severely lacking in this area so it'll be good to dive in and learn more about it.

Not the Rafale, it's two engines, too, I just looked...  maybe I was just confused about the single engine thing or maybe it was something completely different. I guess it doesn't matter much really.  ;D

That's probably it!! They all look similar from a distance and hard to tell apart for someone not that versed on them.

There goes my future career in the Observer Corp.  Unless the enemy is using a fleet of historic warbirds of course.

Same here....      But....  I wasn't losing my mind, even people who know all the ins and outs of these jet SHOULD agree that they all look damn similar:

(I didn't even bother to read the stuff in the photo yet)

Not like we're being confused between an F-16 and an F-15 or something.  ;D

Any how, I've found the kit and have some decals. I just need to buy said kit. It's $13 after shipping, not too bad?  Revell Typhoon.

It's always been thus.  As far back as WWI, the general shapes of everyone's aircraft were pretty much the same, allowing for differences largely due to roles.

Basic engineering principle: Form follows function, and is determined by state of the art.

Given the way information has always percolated around, whether by espionage or sharing, we're all pretty much on the same page, process- and materials-wise.  There are always some standout one-offs from the norm - freaks, mutations - they're usually not very successful in the long run.

So don't feel bad - the main form of recognition in WWI, as I understand it*, was by how the a/c were painted.  :)

Hmmm, other, and more up to date, opinions than some of those in the boxes are available..............
