That, sir, is because perfection takes time & effort, which you are obviously more adept at applying than I am. ;D

LOL , I can assure you,  this has been sidelined a couple of times over the last 4 years, but my OCD compels me to keep going! I do believe that it'll look awesome once done though, which is the main reason I keep at it. No one else will have anything like this, thats for sure  ;D

You now hold the world record for cutting out the smallest possible piece of masking tape!

LOL!!!!  Maybe. The thinnest I could cut would be about 1/4mm in width. Any less than that and the paint will leak under it, or I'll loose it. That's why I take heaps of photos after each session so I can remember where the heck they are.
The best tool I have discovered for assisting in bedding down the tape is a silicone "pen". So useful!

Well, I see I have forgotten to update this thread but a fair amount has happened since the black was laid down. That and the dark gray panels have been masked and now for the next and final shade of gray before the base coat goes down. I'm noticing that some of the paint is lifting which is not a good sign. This may end up being a total waste of time. We shall see

Well, that's where she's at. Still a long way to go yet, but I'm getting somewhere
Thanks for your patience and indulging me with this never ending build (4 years now!)

How EVER long did it take to cut out all those zillions of bits of masking tape?  :o

I've been happily watching & waiting & watching & waiting .... & waiting ... & waiting & watching for the entire 4 years, can't be having it f___ up on us now!

I hope not either but sadly, there must have been some kind of contaminant on the surface when I laid down the black primer. I thought I had cleaned it enough but obviously not.   :banghead:
Kit, if I were to add all of the time spent on masking together, I would say roughly 8 hours straight so far (I down sized that figure too  - it could be more)

PR19_Kit

I'd have been in the loony bin after doing that much masking!  :o

Well, the moment of truth is here and she has been unmasked. As feared, there is some paint lift but its fixable where needed.

Next pics will be the final base coat to bring it all down a notch or 4
