Now, that is a most useful piece of information - thanks, Alistair.

Just received one of THESE because I have run out of drawer space by buying more Lifecolour paint.

It comes complete in its own carrying case (!) and has no less than FIVE different levels of magnification, ranging from x1.5 to x3.5, most impressive. It also has a built-in re-chargeable light, and a fold over magnifying glass as well.

What not to like?

It was invaluable in starting to build my RW IBG Spitfire PR1C.

I've been wanting to get some sort of magnifier for a while now. I tested a few of those magnifiers with lamps that sit on a pantograph arm, but found I couldn't look through those without eyestrain. I wear varifocal glasses, and this seems to have made me very sensitive to imperfect magnification.

I also have varifocal glasses and use THESE with the headband rather than the legs fitted with no problems at all. Very useful indeed for small and detailed work.

I wear bi-focals for modelling work, and the Optivisor I bought works a treat with them, the various extra-magnification lenses plug into the main boy, which hinges up when needed, and the standard 1.5 x lenses have their own separate hinge arrangement. I've yet to use the folding single lens, but the rechargeable light works a treat too.

I bought paint brushes yesterday at Perth, eight of them, in two different bristle lengths and in four different sizes, with the largest being a size zero

Today I bought three packs of Tamiya Masking tape, 1mm, 2mm & 3mm widths.

So you have a sufficiency of seat harnesses, then.

Now that you say that, yes I do. I knew that I didn't have such thin tape previously, but other than using it for masking curves etc, I had no idea what to use them for. Thanks

Happy to have helped.
Be aware though, the sticky on the tape won't necessarily keep it in place, long term - gluing it down is a very good bet.

Just realised I can post in this thread! I've had delivered one of those 3D FDM printed plane jigs you see on EBay. Happy to say it's gone together nice and quickly and seems robust enough even for me! Just need to cut the foamy bits to length.

My nephew has used his shiny new 3D printer to make me a Tamiya paint pot opener. It also works on GS drop bottles too, I am told.
It works very well  ;D

They do work on both sizes, yes. and very well too.

From Jadlam, mostly in order to make an order up to the point where I got more points:

Neat masking tape stand that will hold all my tapes in one place

3D printed pot stand for Tamiya extra thin - I didn't get a square-hole top with my wooden EBMA stand because I didn't think I needed one, and you can't buy one as an extra, for some reason.

I sent EBMA an email asking if I could get a bespoke unit from them. They said yes. Did you ask if you could get the part separately?

No I just noted that you couldn't order it separately though the website. I needed to add something to the Jadlam order anyway, so I didn't look into it further than that.
