What if Jack Northrup traveled to Britain?

Well I started something I've been kicking around for some time now. Picked up a Lindberg Victor kit a while back for half price at a LHS. I was really only interested in the fuselage so what to do with the wings? I had some thick plastic sheet laying around and well, anyway, now I have the start of a flying wing, British style.

Cockpit is from a 1/144th scale F-4.

Underside, lots of room for bomb bays.......

The open area around the cockpit has been filled with Aves epoxie sculpt. Lots of sanding to do. I wish I had lots of extra wheels as the Lindberg ones are over simplified at best.
Any thoughts on paint or markings?

yup interesting,
id suggest anti flash white, but I think it may be rather unforgiving of blemishes, as would natural metal.
grey green wrap round from the late 70s?   or the green sand from the bombing competitions in Nevada?
the things you learn, give your mind the wings to fly, and the chains to hold yourself steady
take off and nuke the site form orbit, nope, time for the real thing, CAM and gridfire, call special circumstances.
wow, its like freefalling into the Geofront

There was also the short lived 'Mod 312' scheme of Light Aircraft Grey and Light Slate Grey, which is actually green go  figure.  :o

Mostly the underside colours were PRU Blue, but some aircraft retained NMF instead.

Some Canberra units used the 'Mod 312' scheme and it's quite distinctive. Of course Northrop's earlier RAF aircraft, the Northampton B(PR)1 used 'Mod 312' as well.  ;D

Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Neat idea looking forward to seeing this progress. Flying wings are cool ! The Northampton is a beauty as well.

Ohhhh, the Victor wing is so elegant.  Hoping for a bomb bay in the belly.  Great idea!

Anti Flash White.  Look how good it looks nekkid and imagine it with touches of colour and faded roundels.  Perfect.  Camo would detract from that amazing shape.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Thanks for the interest and suggestions!
Thinking of going wheels up just to avoid those awful kit wheels.

Nice start! Looking forward to the finished article.

Yep, there is definitely something about a 'flying' display - more in their natural element, or something - and as you say. it gets around any problems with landing gear!

kerick

Boxed in the underside and added a second layer of Aves. Much PSR ahead.

The Slate Greys have always thrown me a bit as well Kit. Mind you a lot of the names given to colours are totally confusing  :o
