Chris Gibson's On Atlas' Shoulders-RAF Transport Aircraft Projects since 1945 is due out on 31st of October and I think I'll be getting it just for the cover pic of a high-winged, wide-bodied VC-10 transporter! https://www.amazon.co.uk/Atlas-Shoulders-Transport-Aircraft-Projects/dp/1902109511/ref=pd_bxgy_14_img_3?ie=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=XB5S9AQGKVB9M8K3A3AM

I'll be avin' that!  Cheers for the tip off Paul.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

That's mine on backorder with Amazon. Thanks for the heads up Paul.

Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

There is a three view plan of it in the Putnam book "Vickers Aircraft".
Also the twin and triple fuselaged VC-10s and the double decker one.

On Atlas' Shoulders is ready for the printers.

Transport aircraft receive very little coverage but as the pillars of any modern war-fighting force, they deserve at least some attention. British aviation companies were at the cutting edge of aerospace technologies in the postwar era and these technologies were applied to transports as much as fighter, bomber and maritime patrol aircraft.

On Atlas' Shoulders not only aims to address that but also show how
transport aircraft and the technology advances that allowed the RAF (OK, RFC) to go from the BE.2c to the A400m in a century are as fascinating as any other military aircraft class. They are the key to a modern war-fighting force. to paraphrase Air Marshal Charles Elworthy, DCAS, there's always something we forget to bring.

I have had this pre-ordered with Amazon for some time now and it has become rather boring getting the "We are still trying to obtain this product" e-mail, each time the publication date has slipped.
