Airfix delivered my Kit Starter Beagle Basset in the post this morning

Four of them arrived here this morning. Two addressed to me, the other pair for my dad.
I always hope for the best.
Unfortunately,
experience has taught me to expect the worst.

Size (of the stash) matters.

I can also sincerely recommend KingKit. Nice selection, fast service, and the price level even after P&P is generally lower than evilbay (much lower in some cases - found some real bargains there). But beware, it's a really dangerous place, you could spend all your money in there...

I look forward to seeing everyone's Bassets, the postage costs really killed KitStarter for me.

One person posted on the Airfix forum to say his arrived sans a fuselage half...
With warm regards from Whanganui, New Zealand

...on floats.

Today arrived my Aoshima 1/72nd scale JSDF Patriot missile system, from Hobbylink Japan. Very nice kit indeed, and it has a missile which can be built and used to make a launch diorama. I want to try and copy it, and use them as air/space launched weapons for my S.H.A.D.O stuff, as they look substantial enough to drop a UFO. Not sure whether to build as is for Honduras, as a defense against Cartel Scud B missiles, or modify a M977 HMMTT  and have it as a U.S Marine system.

Chris.

Simples do the HMMTT tractor and do the Missile US and then use the Tractor for a truck based system for the Cartels or local got forces, you could do a Truck mounted Exocet coastal defence system.

Sounds like a good plan that Geof, I will see what I can do. The patriot system is only trailer mounted isn't it? I will have to look into what they mount it on as I have a spare Academy HMTT, in the stash, and the remains of a resin one that could be made into a 6x6 towing tractor with a bit of resurrection work and a 5th wheel scratch building.

From the Big H a number of paint masks.

First is from 26 models for the Zevezda Il-62, and gosh these are small. I needed them for the wheels and the cockpit windows. There will not be many cabin windows in my models, but thankfully you get two sets of cockpit windows. I can realy see some potential problems with them as they are tiny.

Them a whole bunch of circle masks from Peewit.
These are superb, BUT the sheets are small (6cm X 5.5cm), so there are not many masks on each sheet. What I got were the sheets from 2.5mm diameter ( the smallest) up to 11.9mm diameter, and these go up in 0.1mm diameter.
However the big problem is that you only get two of each size in each set.
Yes adjacent sizes are so very close that you can most probably get away with it, but not very good market planning in my opinion.

Interesting Jim, thanks for posting that mini review  I saw these being used in a magazine build the other day and wondered what you got on the sheet. 2 per size is a a bit of a downer. 4 per size would have been justifiable from my point of view, 2 I need to think about.

Just came back from the last local modelling shop, and found a discounted Revell Douglas A-20J - it's actually a re-boxed Special Hobby kit, and for one third of the SH kit's price I could not resist. Even though the stash grew again...  :-\

Off eBay an Airfix Bristol 192 Belvedere in the most recent boxing.

This is to become a Royal Navy type 191 ASW version  ;)

Didn't OGL just build one of them?
