Interesting RN/FAA training film from the 1970s:

Looks like the rest of that channel is good too.

Excellent stuff there!

Very exciting on that deck but VERY dangerous!  :o

The tanker Buccs had an interesting loadout, one of their big tanks on the port wing, a hose reel pod on the starboard wing and a 'winder outboard on the starboard side too.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

I can watch videos like that for hours, to the gentle rumbles of a snoring wife. One of these days I'm going to chuck some serious cash into getting a commission done of a 1/72 carrier deck with Buccs, Phantoms, Gannets etc....all available now. Maybe I should get some of the Sword kits just in case.

Fascinating.  A health & safety nightmare (i'm sure if I was out there i'd be petrified about walking into a prop) and what a lot of beards.
I'm pleased to see Jumbo the crane which caused my father so much trouble when he was at GEC designing carrier lifts for the MOD.  I've sent him the link so he can enjoy the sight himself.

Thanks H.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

The Gannet, with one prop turning invisibly and the other stationary and giving you a subconscious "safe" cue struck me as particularly dangerous.

I think I'm right in saying that the beards have to come off if war's imminent so that gas masks fit properly. However I know that in the Falklands, many captains turned a blind eye to that one...

Yeah, it was the Gannet running on one Mamba with the ground crew moving it around that had me worried.

One of my Field Engineers was Crew Chief on the Lynx aboard HMS Alacrity and he said his time 'Down South' was the ONLY time he ever sported a beard because they had no time to shave at all!

NARSES2

They also had a beard growing competition on the way down. Had to be a full set though
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.
